Afraid Adele doesn't move me whatsoever. Alison Moyet on the other hand is a genuine talent. I worked security for her at Glastonbury, 1992 I think it was, and she was a superb voice even without amplification and any studio trickery.

But so does Adele, Robbie William's & many other singers that it isn't "cool" to like.

I'd agree Robbie Williams has a voice, whether you like him or not, he can sing. Adele however, I think is awful, and very much over rated, breathy (not in a good way) and nasal, whilst some would say they like her "authentic" accent, I think it sounds shite... just my opinion

Is it "un-cool" to confess to liking Aled Jones rendition of walking in the air?
I'm not an Aled Jones fan & I don't own anything by him. But on that particular track his voice is amazing. And the track itself reminds me of Christmas. Therefore, I'll happily/publicly confess to liking it

Elvis, Eddie Cochrane, Sandy Ford and the Flying Saucers, Crazy Cavan, Bix Beiderbecke, Jelly Roll Morton, Strauss Walzes, Glen Miller, Billy Fury, Roy Eldridge, Louis Armstrong, The Squirrel Nut Zippers, Hotclub of Cowtown and many many more and I am sure that many of my choices would be considered 'weird' to a lot of folks assuming people even know the artists of whom I speak. The one thing I don't listen to is 'chart' music and that's probably mainly because I never listen to the radio or watch TV where 'random' or 'current' music is played.

Ref the Robbie Williams pi$$taking.
This is how I see it in terms of why it's seen as un-cool to like his tracks....
1) He was in a boy band.
2) Only teenage girls & rampant homosexuals like boy bands.
3) His potential was never fully realised in Take That.
4) He left that manufactured band & proved that he can sing & he's a natural born entertainer.

Hmmmm well those points may affect the willingness of a lot of people to listen to him but for me I simply don't dig what I have heard of him and I don't like the sound of his voice. Purely personally taste.

My musical tastes are pretty catholic. Catholic means ‘universal’ for those with twitchy cassocks.
I go from Beethoven to brass bands by way of (Rhythm &) Blues (incl. Moody) , Bowie, Beatles etc., all the way to Trad Jazz. My iPod limps on plugged into the car most usually supplying Joe Cocker, Billy Joel, Bee Gees, Clapton, Fleetwood Mac and my particular weakness…… the rich seam of Glam Rock less the vile Glitter. Damn I miss my loon pants and platforms.

Juveniles are usually trebles (or boy sopranos) and short of body hair.
