Probably one of the best gigs I can still remember was Ian Dury (and the blockheads),new boots and panties tour around 75 also Dr Feelgood and the most deafening ,Rory Gallagher,a genius with the stringed instruments.
Pink floyd dark side of the moon then wish you were here at the hippodrome Bristol with echos as an encore .
Happy new year muckers.

I saw Pink Floyd at Wembley on the Learning To Fly tour, that has to rate as one of the best gigs I've been to, along with Genesis Invisible Touch and Muse Black Holes And Revalations both also at Wembley.

It was all good…. & then you mentioned Muse. Fucking awful. I have my reasons, and mainly not f do own to the band. But they are massively overrated.

If nothing else this Christmas, I have managed to spend some time in the music room reading and listening to some music.
Will be interested to see how this is received here. It’s a band my eldest insisted I went to see the last time I was at a festival.
Maybe a bit too jazz for many, but I really like them. Although it’s probably put in the EDM box, I think there’s a bit more to them than that. All live, all amazing musicians.
Liked that but one of those bands where I just hear the influences, got a real Chick Corea vibe circa 'Silent Way' going on (one of my absolute favourite Miles albums so in no way faint praise)

I watched Hawkwind at The Malvern Festival Hall in 1975 or 6. Absolute rubbish. Worst performance I've ever paid to see
I paid to see SAHB at the Leas in Folkestone and the prick was too pissed to make the stage. So that's my worst gig. I'm gutted I never saw Harvey live.

Saw Gil Scott Heron in his latter years and despite having a tantrum mid set and fucking off for half an hour when he played he was nectar.

I was at the last SAHB gig in the UK, The Greyhound in Chadwell Heath, East London - headed to Europe after and pegged it.

Hard to say what the best gig I've been to has been - some have been great 'times' but perhaps questionable musical events.

For musicianship and awesomeness, Neil Young has to win.

But other categories might be more tricky.

Kinda ties in to what @Old Nick was referencing the other night about live gigs. Some of the memorable gigs have been in venues nobody else knows to bands nobody else knows. 'The Gizmo gig where we had to find an escape route when the venue was busted' 'My son's first London gig at a shithole in Lewisham' 'The band at the Castle that made Prof strip off and dance on a table bollock naked'
