Putin is just trying to scare the snowflakes of the West into backing down and letting him get on with the slaughter. The little shit is getting desperate and you can bet that, if he gave the Nuclear order he would mysteriously shoot himself in the back of the head and all the blame for the shit show would be placed squarely on his shoulders while the Generals denounce him and call the troops home.

Online all those little social justice warriors are busy screaming "Let Putin murder the Ukrainians and let's not poke the tiger or he might nuke us and I only fight for 'justice' when there is no risk to myself". That is what a Rat like Putin banks on - Self interest and people willing to pretend not to see anything rather than step in when others suffer. Ordinary supposedly good Germans turned a blind eye to the death camps because of self interest and many around the world would happily do the same in regard of Putin which is what he instinctively understands.

The light will prevail as long as people are prepared to carry the torch in spite of potential risk to themselves.

I'm not suggesting that he/they are sitting on the fence Chas.
I just find it hard to believe that a multimillionaire is on the front line of what'll be an old school pitched battle.

Even to be so publicly critical of the Kremlin, quite early on before there was a groundswell of similar voices is bravery in itself. I'm tipping my cap anyhow ;)

And if you are a multimillionaire with principles and any kind of pride and respect for your country, then this is what you would do.
If we boil it down and disregard all the economical interests and implications involved, we end up with those people‘s motherland being recklessly invaded by an outside force.
This is where ALL my personal tolerance ends. Fullstop.

Wherever this leads to: I am proud of the Ukrainians to kick ass the way they do!
For God‘s sake: May justice win just once…

Vitally Kitchko as Mayor of Kiev is almost certainly in the city, but definitely in Ukraine - no men 18 - 60 can leave (including foreign nationals)(y)

The Russian Rouble has lost a whopping 30% of its value this morning, potential run on Russian banks - the economy has gone from strong to fucked over a weekend - Am hearing that Russias Central Banks foreign reserves being frozen too (which means they can’t support the Rouble by buying it)

How long can they keep a 15Billion Rouble a day war going?

Hyper inflation on the horizon(y)

Just watching Labour's Sh Culture Minister Lucy Powell on Sky. She is an embarrassment to herself gobbing off about stuff she plainly doesn't begging to understand starting with Defence expenditure.

Two hundred years ago war was described as 'politics with the admixture of other things'. It's absolutely about accountants, psychologists, electronics, you name it. There are three 'components' - the moral (the will to fight' the physical (the means by which to fight) and the conceptual (knowing how to fight). The conceptual can be a great way to rob your opponent of his means to fight without physically striking a blow and it buggers morale too..... just like a letter from the accountant!
