I've heard that line elsewhere, that he's losing the plot becoming increacingly isolated from reality. Not sure I believe it fully esp as it's something Macron is pushing.

I don't personally believe it. I think that Putin, like Stalin, is a hoodlum and a rat, like the previously mentioned Kray Twins. If he thinks the opposition is weak he will go toe to toe and push as hard as he can but, if the opposition looks like it might win or even draw, he will choose survival and living to fight another day. Hitler was altogether a different character, a 'Messiah' complex that required an all or nothing outcome.
Hitler fought with every German citizen at his disposal until all was lost then blew his brains out rather than risk being taken alive but when Stalin thought all was lost he sat blubbering until his cronies, a bunch of degenerates, scum and paedophiles gee'ed him up to carry on. Putin is a Stalin, not a Hitler.
It's my belief that, as long as Putin is met with little more than grumbling he will continue to roll forward. His bluff needs called and his ass needs kicked. The best thing of course would be for the Russia masses to have a new revolution and put him and his cronies down but, if that doesn't happen and we don't stand our ground then he will take it too far and all out war will be the only result.

They were really laying it on quite thick, even comparing Putin to Hitler.
As well as the painting of Putin as the biggest bogey man since Hitler, and the panic pushing that this could turn in to WWIII, there are a few coincidences that seem a bit odd about all this to me. Least of all that it started the day we were "freed" from Covid, and the two things that the global elites are trying to bash us with now are food and energy, Ukraine is one of the biggest exporters of corn/wheat and Russian is one of the biggest exporters of gas and oil to Europe.

Nah I don't buy that as a conspiracy theory angle at all @Scrappy I think there are times when conspiracy theory is just as harmful as governmental idiocy. If anything Putin was taking advantage of Covid, Brexit, Biden and the general pathetic disruption of western society rather than being part of any 'Great Reset'. The man is not that kind of cunning he is pure animal cunning and a predator taking advantage of weakness. It's on record that, every time the West has been destabilised over recent years - Trump becoming ill with Covid, Black Lives Matter, Covid itself, Brexit and EU turmoil Putin, China and North Korea start pushing the envelope to see how much they can get away with and I think Putin simply decided it was time to go 'pure Tonto'. The West needs cohesion and focused aggression against Russia, or more specifically, Putin. If we could get the Russian people to storm the Kremlin and tear him limb from limb that would be just superb!

I think there’s 4 stars come into alignment that means now was the time Putin had to act (in his own mind)
1. Ukraine has always been the breadbasket of the old USSR and now Europe and Putin wants to ensure he has a consistent food supply.
2. He has been bullying Europe with Gas supply price manipulation for months to create fear
3. Europe and the World is weak after the pandemic and to a degree Brexit with everyone bickering
4. He knows currently NATO will NOT put troops into a none NATO Ukraine
So if he wants to secure future food supplies for the Russian people (regardless of the cost) now is the best time to invade Ukraine

Ukraine also has fairly sizeable gas and oil reserves itself which Putin wants to seize in order to strengthen his stranglehold on resources. Russia has a long, long history of using and abusing Ukraine and this is just a re-emergence of that. I see that the filthy scumbag is now asking the Ukrainian people to hand over their democratically elected government or 'face the consequences'. He has the cheek to call that democratic government 'Neo Nazi's'. Never been a fan of Russian's, the fiction of Communism or Putin but I never conceived that he was such a rotten black hearted denizen of hell as he is revealing himself to be now.

There was a piece in my paper today about China starting to distance itself too. From memory (and I paraphrase) their foreign minister made a statement that countries should stay the fuck out of other counties.
