Well the Chinese have been flying 'training' sorties repeatedly around Taiwan in the last few days. They are definitely getting ready and, with the EU demonstrating all the cohesive qualities of diarrhea, Old Uncle Sam muttering quietly to himself in his distant corner and the left wing trying to create maximum disruption in parliament (Chinese paymasters involved?) Now is the perfect time for dictators to start empire building work. Unfortunately they always overdo it and never no when to stop so Armageddon here we come!

If I was a Ukrainian and was facing invasion by the Russki's who brought them the Holodomor and other atrocities I would fight invasion to the death. I have read a lot of people online saying things like -

'I don't blame Putin, it's the West pushing on his borders that are to blame'.
'We should keep out of it, not our fight'
'It's Nato's fault'.

My feelings about the people who are saying such things is that they are complete, self centred arseholes and they are the same wankers who wave their EU flags and talk about 'taking a stand' against all the fashionable 'injustices' like Racism, Sexism, Homophobia etc. When it comes to a country being threatened by being enslaved by a new Soviet resurgence they are quite happy to stand by and watch while thousands are potentially massacred. We stood up to the Kaiser in 1914, we stood up to Hitler in 1939 and we must stand up to Putin on 2022. He is the same kind of little rat shit leader that Stalin was and has to be dealt with.

I do think that war is inevitable and due toward the end of February 2022.

I am no fan of Tugger or Tobias. They're both brandishing military experience which is actually incredibly shallow to further political ambitions to lead. Ambition isn't the same as ability! Officer promotion in the TA comes from staying in..... they are oddballs because most TA careers are short. A TA Lt Col often has fewer days in uniform that a Regular Lt! Elwood is typical of the Green Jacket or Guards short service officer who does the minimum to get the tie and on the Captains promotion roll. Sit behind a desk in a deployed HQ (a relative Slipper City) as a watchkeeper and you start using cordite for aftershave!

Ukraine. Interesting but Putin isn't actually committed to anything apart from mischief. Putin can posture for domestic consumption and profit from pulling tails and strutting. Russian conventional military power isn't a patch on the USSR and Ukraine could leave egg on Russian faces. Equally, he could think it worth a punt to bite off a chunk of Ukrainian turf as a security belt.
