Today [sooner than I expected] the NHS delivered and installed the wifes support aids and would you credit it her Blue badge turned up as well, a good day it will improve her life no end these additions.
Multiple strings were definitely pulled there Don.
And I'm very glad to hear it mate 😀

I reckon that young lady told the powers that be that yourself & Mrs Don are disabled, black, transgender, Romanian immigrants. I can't think how else you'd receive that level of care as straight, white indigenous people? 🤔

Yes mate I know the badge folk contacted her as she put her name forward to them, Marty must be right about me blowing my top and being a future problem for them, whatever I am a lot better and calmer now

Sadly I have long since discovered, especially during my time working for the shite Civil Service in the Jobcentre's, that you get nothing unless you shout and show a potential to cause them trouble. The basic rule in Jobcentres was 'if they are quiet then nail 'em to the wall if they make the slightest mistake but, if they shout and make a scene give them what they want' and I believe that same mantra is followed by all the other public services including the NHS.

Wednesday, get home form work, jump in shower - no hot water!

Chums arriving today, Friday, so wanted a quick solution.

B&Q do the latest version of our shower unit, so I thought I'd have a go at installing it myself as it's a replacement job.

And despite it not being an entirely straight swap, managed it without electrocuting myself of flooding the 'ouse!

Feeling well chuffed, so will start on the beer early!

Been with Triumph Insurance for the last three years and my renewal was £450 for this year. I idly went onto the Bennetts website for a multi-bike quote, put all my details, selected zero voluntary excess, basic recovery, legal, gear and personal cover and set mileage at 5000 per bike and it came in at just under £280. Phoned up Triumph insurance and the best they could do to compete was £400 for the same cover but with less mileage and almost three times the excess. The lassie at Triumph simply said, sorry we can't beat it so you'd do well to take the Bennetts offer. Duly cancelled renewal on my Triumph insurance and forked out for the Bennett's cover. So much for Triumph's claim of 'We Won't be beaten, try us'.

Oh I totally agree I don't really value insurance so the cheaper the better. I certainly don't expect that it would actually do me that much good in event of accident or theft and so it's solely because it's a legal requirement in this septic isle.
You saved a good amount of money on that deal and it just goes to show that it's pointless having any loyalty to any company or brand these days

I must admit that I almost paid my Triumph Insurance renewal without even looking for an alternative quote. Sheer laziness and not wanting the hassle as I though that it would be a few quid of a difference at most. I was just idly doing the Bennetts multi-quote as it's one of the few multi bike policies you can get a quote for online without having to phone, hang on the line for ages and generally waste your time with. I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw they were offering more than a third cheaper with better allowances and a third of the excess.

The joke is that my Triumph Insurance renewal states that they will beat any like for like quote and yet, when I told them what Bennett's quoted they said 'Sorry can't beat that. I'd take it if I was you'.

Just got the renewal quote for breakdown cover for the bike & car £80 ,last year £59 called rescuemycar and i got a new quote
£50. Its a personal policy so it covers me for any vehicle.
Why do they always try it on , they should give the cheapest quote from the start.
Watch out for auto renewal. I can't remember which company but they took the money out my account just before the renewal date and when I rang to cancel they charged me about half of the cost to cancel it, bearing in mind the policy hadn't even started.
