Only 27, but it's a start 😃

BBC News - Many migrants heading for UK die after boat sinks

The last time I posted such a comment elsewhere. A bunch of spineless, virtue signalling lefties told me to stand in the naughty corner 🤣
@Public Enemy, what do you reckon mate? The naughty corner again, or a thumbs up? 😉
I think it's very sad that these poor people have died whilst trying to escape persecution in their own country. And all the other countries they passed through on the way here. Some of them didn't even have the latest Nike trainers or Adidas shell suits.

It comes down to greed.
France is exactly what they claimed they wanted i.e. it's safe.
Trying to get here for an even more cushy life. Cost them their lives. Therefore I have almost zero sympathy.
Anyone that claims they are the innocent victims of people smugglers is kidding themselves.
Without people with the desire to illegally enter this country. There would be no people smugglers.
It's like blaming McDonald's for an obesity crisis 😏

I reckon Johnson wants out and it's only a matter of time before he quits. The big problem is there is not a single bloody figure in politics at the moment who is any more of a leader than Johnson. They are all dirty, slimy scum.

To be honest I don't really blame the French for standing by and watching the migrants. They don't like us at the best of times and they blame us for the fact that their country is full of scum from the four corners of the Earth who are only there because they want to get to the glittering prize that the UK appears to said scum. If we eliminated the bleeding heart liberal middle classes in their comfortable ivory towers and sent a solid signal out that the UK does not welcome immigrants perhaps they actually wouldn't even try to get across the channel and maybe even get their sorry asses back to their own land. If they made such an effort to fight for their homeland as they do trying to get to ours they could do wonders for their own people. The real enemy of the UK is that class of UK resident who thinks he is superior to everyone else and that he is the guardian of all that is moral and 'right' and seems to detest the people of his own nation and would subjugate them in favour of those colourful and interesting foreigners.

@DD67 Don't you mean that it's what happens when your new-fangled 'fly-by-wire' electronic 'brain' farts and dies where the old school mechanical machine chugs along without a hitch?

I see they are suggesting on the BBC that it might have been some muppet forgetting to take a cover off the engine. Hmm you would have thought that, if that was the case there would have been sensors on the aircraft to stop it long before it went 'catastrophic'. It ain't a great bit of video but the plane looks like it was plodding along at nowhere near take-off speed it's hard to believe that, if that video is genuine, the pilot didn't know there was something wrong and couldn't have stopped long before he hit the ski-jump.

The beeb are also saying that 'the pilot ejected shortly after take-off' but you can't really call that 'take-off' as he appears to simply drive over the edge.

I can't help thinking it's fake news Marty. The video is ridiculous for all the reasons you've highlighted mate.

The jocky as stated before would have been ejected by the Aircraft, @Sarky B’stard joke [the plane rejected him] was spot on the fan on the engine used mainly for virtical landing but also plays a part in take off would eject the pilot if failure was determined by the computer controlling that system as it would react faster than the pilot
