Made the most of a rain day.
Enjoyed a walk at 04:30 to post a letter before it started to rain. Lovely. No traffic, no people just birdsong.
Back home, crumpets and tea while ripping most of my CD’s after a major p.c. crash. Glad I kept the CD’s ‘just in case‘. Sod’s Law dictates that something would go wrong!
A rewarding day.

I've still got my Rega turntable and 70s Rotel amp. I never even replaced my vinyl stuff with CDsNoooo - it's much better having an 'artefact' to handle!
Ripped and stream everything here, but still have all teh CDs - easier for guests to browse too!

I still have my old vinyl.I swore I would never give up on vinyl and tapes back in the late eighties when CD's started appearing. Had a mountain of Thrash. metal. rock. punk, blues, psychobilly, rockabilly and much more but, in mid 1997, I bought my first portable CD player and, by the end of 97, I had a mountain of CD's and had gotten rid of most of my vinyl collection. During a period of financial desperation around 2006 or so I ripped all my CD's to MP3 and sold them off. Wish I hadn't as there is something about owning a 'proper' copy of the music as well as a bunch of computer files. I have re-built a modest collection of maybe 400 'essential CD's now though.
