What have you done to anything but your bike today?

I'm getting ready for my Grandad/grandson kayak build project. The kit is due for delivery next week and due to an employment delay for most of this week, I have been busy in the garage. There is a lot of assembly required which needs light clamping. I have cut up a stash of 110mm pvc pipe offcuts into 40mm rings and then split them. These will exert sufficient force to hold some components together until the epoxy resin has hardened. I've used these things for years in building, but now I have 45 of them!20211004_131708.jpg20211004_131719.jpg

What are you building?

Your clamps remind me of ‘The Maneater’. We used to have an outside khazi mostly used when gardening. One day Dad got caught short, muddy boots etc., so availed himself of the facility. Then there was a howl and torrent of expletives. The toilet seat had got brittle and was just like your drainage pipe. Exert sufficient force? I should say so!

Even funnier he was left searching for his wallet the following day. Always kept in a hip pocket. Yup, it went flying behind the pan when he became seized of his predicament. 😳

A 2 seater "stitch and glue" plywood kayak. I made 2 about 40 years ago for myself and a drinking partner. Great fun.

Due to the amount of interest, I will start a dedicated thread so those who don't give a shit can ignore it!
My childhood neighbour built a canoodle. I remember a skeletal frame and him skinning it in some sort of plastic canvas with a hairdryer. I assume yours is going to be more like this?

Fitted a security camera, can see what comes in and out, comes to the front door and goes past. 1633431974256.jpg

Shouldnt have to do it, but just a bit mistrustful these days.

Edit... It can track movement, but has a habit of following birds (feathered), and not going back to where I want it.

Very close mate, actually building the Mill Creek 16.5. My first build was a skin on skeletal frame with pvc hull and canvas deck, that was a 2 seater. I was 15 and that build gave me an interest in small boat craft.
