couldn't support the weight on the left leg. Nearly dropped it

One of these or maybe one of those learner attachments from back in the day, you could make one from your neighbours caravan wheel and cut up some scaffolding...............on second thought forget that you and a angle cutter/grinder don't go together.

Remember those, sidewinders weren't they called? My mate had one...freaking lethal!

I was using the grinder the other day, went down to the garage later on for some steel, and Gordon says "I heard you giving the grinder some grief, was wondering what you were cutting off this time..."

Though "on" is a bit hopeful. I was having problems with the left leg (side, really) and couldn't support the weight on the left leg. Nearly dropped it at a junction!!! Since the fun with the grinder in may, I don't have a lot of feeling in my left foot at all. Must have caught a nerve.... So, it's MOT'd and insured, but I don't get out much. About 100 miles this year

I smashed into a dry stone wall
recently and somehow the bike didn't go down and my leg got scraped all along wall at 50mph, damaged all my left side and my leg and foot got well fucked up giving me a bit of a limp now..Gotta do physio but I don't think it will help as its nerve damage..left shoulder fucked from falling off bike earlier in year so it sounds like we're in same boat with that...

I've been out most of the day on my Indian FTR I rode up to Dream Machine in Nottingham so that they could match the paint on my bike, as they are painting some plain carbon fibre tank covers I brought last year. I had a fantastic ride, especially in the morning, clear skies, full sun, a pleasant temperature, and loads of fun However on the way back I had a total technology failure. I had been using Google maps with the phone in my pocket and just audio prompts for navigation, but after a few mins it refused to give any sounds, so I then tried using the built in Nav on the FTR, but that sent me on a weird mystery tour and then also refused to work, so I ended up getting lost for a while in enemy territory (Leicester)

Post ride wash, also did the Bobber, because there is still some residual salt on the roads, but a few days of rain are forecast which will hopefully clean up the roads nicely.

Fitted a rear hugger and a radiator guard to the FTR.






I had to modify the rear hugger slightly, as the side edges came a bit too close to the tyre for my liking. I'm not completely happy with the way the radiator guard fits either, it's the second one I've tried . The first was an R&G item with similar not great fitting . The quality of aftermarket accessories seems to be getting worse, I also had to modify the tail tidy when I fitted that a while back. All are supposed to be specific for my bike year and model.

I'll see if my OCD gets over the radiator guard, if not I'll have to find another or get a custom one made as I'm confident I could design a much better fitting item

You know I really don't get when they put the radiators in such a vulnerable position I don't see why they couldn't put them behind some proper impact protection and channel air over them using ducting. They could even get a bit inventive that way and make them a little more aerodynamic too.

If bikes had proper full length mudguards as standard and mudflaps they would not need extra protection, it seems today you buy a bike and have to buy the rest of it to complete it, protection, centre stands ect ect

Today I fitted some Motech engine/crash bars to the Bonnie as they were going for a vastly reduced price, these things are built like a tank, off for a ride after.

Out for a spin on Britt this evening, just up the glen out of the village via Hell's Glen and looped around and back in via the Rest and Be Thankful. Thirty odd miles and a handful of cars none of which got in my way. A great place on two wheels here although the roads in and out of the Glen could do with a spot of re-surfacing. Still a wee bit chilly this evening though when the sun wasn't around.


I've had more expensive bikes, I've had bigger bikes but I still find myself looking at this wee treasure and thinking "That gorgeous beastie is mine!"

I do think she could do with a change of sprocket sizes. I'll need to have a lookee see how many teeth are on front and rear but I've got a feeling they are the stock sizes or even smaller as she is hitting the redline at 100mph but feels like she's got a bit more oomph left at that.
