What's Boiling Your Pi$$ Today?

Today's piss boiler for me are the numerous annoying oxygen thieves in this neck of the woods who scream around the town centre and surrounds with their pop n bang/crackle ignition map turned up to eleven. Lovely evening, nice smell of dinner cooking, patio door open to enjoy the cool air and bird song, but all can hear are wankers red-lining their shit-box 3-Series every few yards followed by BANG BANG BANG BANG and repeat. The same twats who put stupid drift wheels on with ridiculous offsets that look like their track rod ends are broken. Almost bad as the prats that spend every penny and more on a leased AMG/M5 because they think its a "status symbol" which they modify to deafening levels, without permission probably invalidating their insurance, ragging them around deafening everyone... I need to move!

A quick look on Google and there are dozens of places around here offering ignition mapping which is just encouraging the bastards..... And breathe.....

I'd rather listen to that than bird song.
It takes all sorts to make a world Mr M πŸ™‚

My most recent piss boiler is that, for the last half hour, I have been trying to find out what kind of puller I feckin' need for this Sprint RS flywheel. All I can tell is that it's approximately 22mm across but I can't say for certain whether it's a right or left handed thread and what the pitch is. Fowlers don't even list a specific puller in the service tools for the Sprint RS Arrrrghhhh!!!!!

Shame you're not local, you could pop over and help me fuck up my exhaust in the morning then in the afternoon we could wreck your spare engine with brute force and frustrated anger :D

Ah well you see @Scrappy if you look carefully at that list it has the Sprint ST and Sprint GT but not the RS. I took delivery of the Laser version of that tool from the 'Tool Academy' today only to discover that it doesn't fit the rotor of RS. You see that device has a female thread which mates with a male thread on the rotor of just about every other Triumph where the RS has a rotor with a female thread inside the hub of the rotor and so requires a male thread on the puller outer.

In that case I understand your frustration πŸ€ͺ

Can't quite visualise it but is there the possibility of making/buying/getting made an adapter to make the existing puller work?

Well @chas the one I got today has the thread on the inside of the cylinder and is about thirty mm or so in diameter where I need one with the thread on the outside and with a diameter of around 22mm and, at the same time I don't know whether I need a left hand or a right hand thread and what pitch that thread needs to be. Very very frustrating.

It is a pity that you aren't closer to me as I have a good set of downpipes and Akrapovic exhaust from my scrapped Sprint that might have fitted you Speed Triple although I have no idea if they actually would.

Out of interest anyone have any opinions on which is better between Scorpion and Akrapovic exhausts? My existing Sprint has a Scorpion and the scrapped one had Akrapovic. I have left the Scorpion on but was wondering if I'd be better with the Akrapovic.

If you can look down one end and see straight through it it'll shift gas. The rest is down to how it looks and lasts.

Just a wee note.... When I was taking the angle grinder to the engine output sprocket nut I finally looked at the sprocket that was fitted to the engine. Not only was it running a 48 tooth rear sprocket as per the Gen 1 tiger (They changed to 18tooth front and 46 rear for gen 2 tigers) or four more than standard for a Sprint but it was running a 17 tooth front rather than an 18. No wonder the acceleration on my Daytona feels rather tame by comparison. I think I might just drop to a 17t front on the Daytona and then maybe even add a couple of teeth at the back because I can tell you that the Sprint pulled away like pure stink!

The more sharp eyed or inquisitive may have noticed a horrid bodge on my bike's downpipe to connector pipe union. Previous owner's work and i should have looked at it sooner rather than later but my preference is for riding the thing rather than polishing or finding too many jobs to do. It was gas tight (ish) so fukkit. Looked ugly but could tell there was a *job* if i disturbed it.

The fucking thing is fucking fucked. My day off to.orrow that I'd planned to spend blasting round kent and east sussex will now be a spanner day. BOLLOX

The connector pipe is a bad marriage, poorly arranged. That sleeve butts onto the downpipe so it just had shit wrapped around and clamped.
Tomorrow, to @BAD LUCK DUCK 's joy will be a disc cutter day. 😁
I'm intending cutting the reducer off the connector pipe and slotting it so it sleeves over the downpipe.
What could go wrong lads, eh?

I'm now reassessing the situation and thinking I still wanna tootle around Scotland
Plenty of routes to take that avoid the sheeple. The east coast A9 side of the NC500 is as boring as a boring thing, and the west side can be rough as a bears arse.

Far better to get of the drove road and use some of the B routes, like from Dingwall to Invergordon then over to Bonar Bridge, through Lairg, Altnaharra, Gordonbush... Hills, bends, scenery. Potholes too... NC500 is straightish fast roads and often queues of vehicles for miles. Still potholes though.

La Mirage in Helmsdale make the best fish suppers in Sutherland though....

I avoid the A9 as much as possible, unless it's to go to Brora or Golspie in a rush.

Tbh, I'd point you in the direction of Argyll, Inveraray, Oban, on the ferry to Mull (from Lochaline rather than Oban) and just take your time.

NC500 is either a race track, or the longest car park in the North 🀣 plus, the bit at the top from Latheron onwards to Wick and John O Scrotes is reckoned to be one of the most dangerous accident prone stretches of road in the UK, due to dawdling traffic and no real safe places to pass.

And John O Scrotes. What a touristy shite hole that is. Put it this way, been there twice in 20 years, both times to pick up things I bought, and not to see the carbuncle that is J O G.
