I think the NHS is bleedin' screwed. I have an online mate who lives down Telford way and his partner fell out of her attic at the end of last year and broke a couple of vertebra. She got pinned up but has since developed either an embolism or an aneurism (can't remember which) in her groin. Took her weeks to get to see a specialist who said it was very serious and life threatening but that he was also starting off on his hols the next day so wouldn't be able to do anything 'til he got back. Told her what signs to look for that would indicate she had a very short time to live which would probably mean she would be dead before the ambulance arrived let alone got her to hospital. Since then it's been a couple of months and she was supposed to go under the knife this week but has now been put back to mid August. Personally I'd have feckin' kidnapped the surgeon, commandeered an operating theatre and ordered him to get it done by now if it was my missus.

Perhaps the NHS could better use the £75 million they paid out last year in compensation, to treat other people in need. A lot of who probaly just used thier claim to make some easy bucks, and claims lawyers rich, parasites.

oh I dunno….

I know a victim of surgical error who was wholly deserving of his compensation. People who think in terms of public money are less careful with it and the risks to it. A surgeon in private practice pays for his own liability insurance (ncd!) and values his reputation as someone overwhelmingly on the NHS payroll just doesn’t. Now who would you choose?
The world has moved on but the NHS hasn’t. It’s results don’t recommend it as a system to copy…… and nobody has.

I had to wait 17 years for them to put right a total f**k up when I broke my femer in 3 places left me in agony for 17years when they failed to clear the infection up in a pin track. I saw 4 differant orthapedic surgeons in four differant hospitals none of them believed me or were interested? I finally got refurred to Glen field hospital Leicester seen by Ortherpedic surgeon showed him the scar without xrays he told me I had still got the infection in a pin track took him 5 mins, xrays confirmed it. He could not believe they had failed to know what was wrong. Under the knife 3/4 weeks later 4 weeks on crutchs, that was 1990 never had any problems with it since. just pleased to be painfree after 17 years agony and prescription painkilllers. So I see your point about bad surgeons but still think theres is a compensation culture now. instead of sacking the incompitant ones.

The f**king MSM again, there ought to be a law that demands they support their narrative with verified facts (not by lefty agenda based so called fact-checkers ), because nearly all of it is total bullshit 🤬 - They are the problem, stoking racial division, which will inevitably create a self fulfilling prophecy as their poison results in more racism.

There is a compensation culture. The trick is to minimise the oxygen supply. I saw it at work in the MoD. The truth? Most of the time the Treasury Solicitors were keen to reduce the workload by paying off rather than contesting cases - net result? More claims. I saw obvious try ons netting thousands.

And don’t get me started on the pregnancy/loss of career claims from the 80s. Some knew the rules well enough to time the pregnancy announcement after they had been selected for promotion to get a higher award for being compulsorily retired. And the taxpayer got shafted. The female return of service in the Forces remains well below the male and pregnant soldier is still an oxymoron in my book. (I am not very pc and my daughters aren’t 2nd class citizens either……but!)

Abuse of the system in regard of pregnancy is a big problem in the system I think. Some years ago my wife sought mental health help. The Psychologist for the area was off because she was due to give birth. She had her maternity leave, returned to work and, in no time at all she was away to have another sprog, came back to work and, you guessed it, after a few months she was off to have another sprog. When she wasn't on maternity leave she was on sick leave! That was three years where the whole of Cowal had no psychologist for much of the time but the NHS was paying for one.

I think there is a real problem with negligence in the NHS. I have had two surgeries in my life and both were rubbish. In one instance (an attempted removal of a stone from a salivary gland) when I went to see the the surgeon (a doddery old middle eastern fellow) for the follow up he actually, once he had got any potential witnesses out of the room, admitted he had screwed up. My wife's life has been ruined as she was one of those women who had vaginal mesh implant surgery. I suspect that, for every person who makes a claim against the NHS for damages there are hundreds who don't even though they have been messed up.

Outrageous! 😡
BBC News - Ben & Jerry's to stop sales in Palestinian territories https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-57893161
Especially if you're a Yid, living in the heart of Yidistan? 🙃
Reading between the lines it’s not quite as the BBC report it. Well whadddasurprise!

Unilever are terminating their licence for production in Israel. That’s how it’s been available in Palestinian Territories in the first place. So the news story is, “Ben & Jerry’s to stop producing in Israel……”

I have taken an approach to not giving a feck to anything in this world outside my interest, nothing makes sense anymore feck them all bar one and bollox to him

I'm starting to get that way myself Don, the world is totally mad, nothing makes sense, and I can't believe how fantastically stupid and gullible most people are these days. I turned on GB News this morning, and had to turn it off within 15 mins, as it was really making me depressed (reminded me why I don't watch TV news anymore), fortunately I was snapped out of it by your funny memes :)

Well the madness can be a clue itself. We have:

a virus of provably low lethality that has largely blown through.
no excess mortality whatsoever
a vaccine that appears as problematic as it is ineffective
Some people still making serious money
Increasingly totalitarian measures to control a population not at risk
Threats of ‘something else just round the corner’
A non-functioning Parliament not even questioning (+ Labour lunacy!)

With demonstrations across Europe and swathes of the USA and Scandinavia back to normal I genuinely think we need to kick off here. This has never truly been about a virus and appropriate measures. It’s either deeply sinister or deeply stupid. While I generally subscribe to the cock up theory of history it’s getting harder and harder while our social construct and freedoms are torn up. There is a point where disobedience is a civic duty. I think we’re there.

If it wasn't for t'fact that it could fuck someone's life up, it'd be hilarious!!

Seeing how reactive rather than proactive the current administration (they do not qualify as a government) have been I'm of the opinion they are incompetent, opportunistically greedy and easily swayed by their 'other interests' rather than having any master plan.
The pig fucker and greensill as one example among many
