Typical of our upside down world, don't house and properly compensate or even send home those who have fought and been prepared to die to protect our country and way of life, whilst importing a potential hostile foreign army and reward them for coming with both housing and money and they are treated as a priority and better than many of our own citizens. It's f#cking disgusting!!

I understand the "You can argue they knew the score" it's when you have a tier system for folk doing the same job it's effect on moral stands out not that there is a lot of moral about in some area's, as we use to joke "moral" no item record,

The point being they were hired to serve in HK or Brunei without a long term retirement option there except through private security. That changed in 1997 but it was HMG that brought them back to the UK.…..and retire in the UK became a popular option. Nepal itself has changed massively and not necessarily for the better from the perspective of a former UK Ghurka soldier. China is omnipresent.

I get filled with dread whenever I get notification that something I've ordered is going to be delivered by UPS. I've had items (of some value) delivered to the wrong address twice, and once not even handed to anyone but just left outside (not even in the same street). Often waited in a whole day, expecting a delivery, only for it not to turn up. Items delivered beaten to crap. UPS as you say are utter wankers!

I have to say @DD67 with the kilt being traditional dress in Scotland and there are some who wear them as everyday attire I have always wondered why people here who feel the need to wear a skirt don't just don the kilt and keep their dignity. I guess they want to play the full dress up game complete with the clown paint and 'make a statement' about who they think they are. I can't deny that I just can't understand their point of view. I can't even imagine what it's like to feel as if you are a different person from the body you inhabit. I look at my lumpy bits and the things that I don't really 'dig' about my bod but I would never change them simply because they are me. I suppose that wearing the kilt, at least in my experience, doesn't make you feel any less of a man which is not what they are seeking. I can put myself mentally in the shoes of many but trying to see their point of view is like trying to imagine what it's like to be an alien.
