I got your message @Judd Dredd but I didn't try logging out as I thought that just being offline and then coming back on would do the same thing. I have logged out and back on now so see if that sorts it out. Odd thing was that it was intermittent with some threads allowing me to 'like' stuff and other not allowing it.

I found that one quite funny Jez. The Scouts aren't allowed to be 'Boys only' any more but the Girl Scouts can be 'Girls Only' so the Boy Scouts have simply decided that they will take the bull by the horns and try and make the Girls Only Scouts obsolete. I find it really bizarre that it's OK to have 'Girls Only' and 'Ladies Only' organisations and events but it's illegal for men to have them. Surely that's totally sexist?

Using terms of abuse such as snowflake, liberal etc devalues an argument against the attitudes that drive most of us here batshit.

The thing is that the type of people who do all the things referred to in what @BB3Lions shared refer to themselves as being 'Liberals'. Which is the very reason that it was turned into an insult as it holds a mirror up to their own claims of holding the moral high ground and they have used it as a platform to condemn all they disagree with using just the very words in BB3's post. Anyone remember that nutjob leader of the Liberal Democrats, Jo Swinson who considered anyone who didn't agree with her to be beyond the pail. I guess DD tried to make a distinction by introducing the term 'plastic liberal' but that went nowhere and brought it's own accusations of bullying.

The problem is that calling anyone anything or categorising anyone now in any way is a sure fire way to get yourself in the shit in most places whether that category is Fucking Idiot, Cunt or Liberal.

T'other day I looked in at a Facebook page for Triumph Owners, can't recall which, and a guy started an argument (he was in the wrong) and, when someone corrected him he wound them up until they lost their temper and called him something very mild... Got reported to admin and fella got a ban. 'Victim' crowed about how the bad man got sorted out by him and asked admin not to delete the offending comments as he wanted all to see the horrendous injustice done to him. Admin were all apologetic and asking where the bad man touched him. In another world people would have been ashamed to behave in such a petty and pathetic manner deliberately setting someone up and winding them up until they lost their cool just to get their little power trip jollies.

I would like to say that that kind of behaviour is rare but we all know from personal experience that it is more like the norm on the internet than the exception.
