Cool!
There are several that fit the bill on Ebay for £3k-£4k ish.

I deliberately didn't mention the grille because there are several aftermarket firms that offer kits to convert a MK1 to a MK2. The indicators in the mirrors are much harder to fake because I assume the wiring isn't there on a MK1.

Don't get too hung up on the mileage. Both the diesel engines run timing chains not belts. Therefore you'll get away with fluids/filters at most services.
Interesting point on aftermarket upgrades wasn’t aware of that(y)

Seen a few 2008 registered cars with pre face lift mirrors and grill so some 2008 facelift cars may not be facelift cars - good to know to look(y)

Just for reference, our 2006 X type 2.0 diesel estate is still going strong after 16 years and 154,000 mile. Still gives 50mpg on a run, too.
Everything still works, ice cold aircon, electric everything. Bought 4 years ago for £1300, owes me nothing, and wafts us about in the manner of a gentleman's conveyance. It will, no doubt, blow up tomorrow. If it does I'll go out and get another one.

That’s the sort of ringing endorsement that makes me happy these are decent cars(y)

I've got an issue with one of the bolts on the nearside brake caliper...I've plastered it with wd40 and even had the blow torch on it...It won't budge and looks like its gonna round off...Any ideas...🦆

Use some diesel as a penetrating oil, wd is shite at that. You could also use an impact driver if you've got one or if you've not use the sliding T bar as the wrench (rather than ratchet) and tap the end with a hammer while applying torque.

The bolt is in a recessed area and can only just get a spanner in..no room for anything else..
Whoever done it previously as overtightened everything to a ridiculous level and I've had to replace bolts on other side..🦆

Doesn't sound good @BAD LUCK DUCK Ring spanner or open ended? You might have a slightly better chance with a good quality ring spanner or socket but it sounds like you may end up needing some specialist help if it's hard to get to and rounds off.
I did it...blow torch a hammer and twatting a slightly different spanner on it..
Off screwfix to buy replacement bolts...Ain't putting them back on unless I have to and would be on a very temporary basis and would not tighten up..
See what screwfix can do for me...
Let you know what happens lads...cheers...🦆

At the risk of teaching Duck to lay eggs.....
Just make sure you are using the appropriate grade of bolt for a safety item like brakes/caliper carriers. I'm never sure if their High Tensile is my 8.8 when many brake bolts are 10.9.....

Add a smear of copper slip to the new bolts.
It might not be that the originals were over-tightened. Could just be the environment they were working in? i.e. the heat transfer from the caliper plus mud, salt & cold weather etc etc.

Screwfix tried to sell me some shite and the local auto parts was no good either..
I've had to put the original bolts back on after filing them a bit more to shape...They will be coming back off as soon as I recieved new ones from jaaaaag parts specialist...👍👍👍🦆
