Looking at the letter it does look legit

And wording on accompanying paperwork refers to the 14 day rule

I had one of those last June, for driving without due care and attention. There was a car in a ditch just coming off a roundabout, with a police car blocking the inside lane. A copper was stood next to it, gesturing me to slow down, which i did, and passed him in the outside lane. His arms started flapping like mad, as i did so. Ahead of me, were about a dozen cyclist's, that had just done the same, so i rode on. I filled in the form. and put in a letter, explaining my version of events. I also pointed out, that they had the date wrong, and i could prove it. I never heard anything back. Not even an apology for fucking me about.

Just went to read the 'Leccy meter and take a (date stamp) pic of the reading.

The fecker is flashing a bank of zeros.

I'm no conspiracy theorist but they've been nagging for me to upgrade to a smartmeter (meter is ten? year old) but a FoF who works for the grid advised against on the basis of the monkeys used to install new meters. Been a load of fires as a result of poor installation aparra and I can read a meter and send in a reading quite happily (which is the only advantage I see of a smart meter).

I can just see a world of pain (aka being on hold for months on a daily basis) to get this sorted

Don't get a smart meter...
The fire thing is real...
However apparently they can limit your electricity supply and all sorts....Lots of people now regret having them fitted and it's gonna get worse from what is going on in the world...🦆

I have had the leccy company trying to persuade, con, coerce and threaten me into taking a smart meter for the last couple of years but until they can actually fotimerce me to have one I ain't having one!
I heard of someone with one, get behind with her payments, and they rationed her supply to an hour at breakfast time, and an hour in the evening, to cook the dinner. She sat in the dark, with no laptop, or TV after that. I have also heard the tin hat brigade, claim they can monitor, and record conversations, as can most modern TV's it seems ? A bit like those alexa things.

If you have a digital meter with a red A button & a green B button.
Press B, wait 5 seconds & press it again Chas.
It might even pop up with the reading after the first press of B?

That's exactly what it's about..
The power companies are not going to be able to provide the amount of electricity to keep things going in the not too far future...So called energy efficiency and environmentally friendly means they will have to reduce the amount of electricity each household recieves..
That's what smart meters are all about...
It's a step back if you ask me..I'm glad I got my log burner where I live and candles...
I already live in the stone age and think I'm a caveman..
You guys with your computers and tvs and gay electric toy cars are fucked though 😳😳😳🥸🦆

You might be surprised at the amount of household items that have microphones in them and are linked to the internet. For example Nest Protect smoke alarms, they use them for alarm sounds checks, and also to detect if anyone is in the house supposedly for linking with Nest thermostats as an input in to deciding if the heating is needed or not. But Nest being owned by Google, I wouldn't be surprised if those microphones are being used for other nefarious activities.

Amazon have already been caught recording and storing private conversations though Alexa devices, it even made main stream media news. I've worked as a computer programmer for nearly 40 years, and I am increasing avoiding technology in the home. I definitely would not have an Alexa device, I do have Amazon Fire TV box, but I have removed the batteries from the remote because it contains a microphone, and I use a multi-function remote without microphone instead.

Pretty sure it’s genuine NIP and I cant see what I gain fighting it except a Pyrrhic victory:confused:

And reading your tale makes me think I’ll be on a hiding to nothing anyway - the wankers:cautious:
My Mrs got an NIP about 6 months after the alleged offence of 44 in a 30 at 0120 hrs on a monday morning. We sent back asking for the case to be dropped since it had been so long and it has to be taken sued within 14 days. They reissued it and said that the original NIP had been issued within 14 days to the previous keeper since the DVLA hadn’t updated their records and it had taken time to find out the current keeper. We’d had the car for a couple of years and the docs were in her name, and it had been re-taxed twice with the DVLA not having had a problem sending her reminders.
The next question was who was driving. We couldn’t remember and I asked for a clearer picture so that we could ascertain who was behind the wheel. They did not, and we could not since it was a trip we do frequently and whoever was least tired didn’t have a drink and did the driving. They told me that we had to remember - my question to the lady I was speaking to was
‘do you have a family car?’
Yes.
‘how many people drive it?’
Four.
‘who was driving it on November 23rd last year?’
Ah, I see your point.

2 days later, No Further Action. Caveat: We still don’t know which of us was driving…..
