Two good reasons to continue-
1) your contributions are tax free
2) you’re employer also contributes 3% which is free money for you (which you don’t get if you opt out)

If you come out the extra money will be subject to tax and NI totalling around 33% so you’ll see about 66% of your contributions as opposed to leaving it in you see 103% plus, when you retire (investments can go down as well as up blah blah)
But I could use that money now for flood and dinosaur insurance 🦕

Surely to God, this can't be true.
If you've ever served in the British armed forces or you have an ounce of patriotism. I strongly suggest that you don't watch this video.
Obviously you will after that statement. But be prepared for a massive shock...

He's a one isn't he?

I rather suspect that prolific authorship of low selling books isn't actually any endorsement. He plainly knows little of how most soldiers receive such 'instruction.' When I reached a certain rank there was compulsory 'equalities training' delivered by a bunch of civvies who proceeded to insult my intelligence with tales of Mary Seacole as a figure of greater historical significance than Flo Nightingale. Now she was undoubtedly a remarkable individual in her own right but her contribution to nursing and public health? Not in the same league and she was so obviously rediscovered to promote diversity having been largely forgotten for a 100 yrs. I wasn't racist to begin with and didn't emerge any more woke - just more cynical about the race baiting industry.

The important thing to understand is these initiatives come from politicians and civil servants and the uniforms merely 'consent and evade'. It's a bit like padre hour where attempts to instil religious sensibility usually end up as toe curling distractions into sexual morality and malpractice - or finding out if the Catholic padre is a virgin or gay.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it. Just look at the police, the justice system, the education establishment, civil service, etc, where they have been infested and/or taken over by woke lefty lunatics. If like the police the recruitment criteria is changed to be so heavily biased for people with a particular political leaning or for box ticking diversity, then eventually (sometimes fast tracked) those people rise to the top, reinforcing just one political doctrine or agenda.

From what I've read. She was a savvy business woman who set up a refreshments business for the spectators of battles & a kind of officers mess.

Comparing her to Flo Nightingale is a terrible insult to Nightingale.

I'm not saying it's not pernicious, just that some cultures are more resistant. If you were to ask me what's wrong with Plod I would sum it up as 'ethos'. They have lost the plot at the top and in the middle as well as at the bottom. Careerists piss off the good guys and they recruit and tolerate some totally unsuitable (& worse) constables. I've seen a few forces close up and one or two were pretty ugly but thought themselves both pretty and hot.

The introduction of regional police and crime commissioners, I believe was a deliberate move to parachute in political leadership at the top. Whilst heavily biased recruitment built from the bottom.

I hope nothing too serious and she makes a quick recovery 😟
It's a simple thing that should have been a dentist job a year ago which now as got complicated needs an operation which will be eighteen months from now which is too long...
It's nasty and as started to cause numbness in lips and if they operate in eighteen months could course some very serious shit...If they don't operate the serious shit will slowly creep up on her anyway effectively ruining her life...
I'm really starting to have a deep seated dislike of the NHS big time...
It's kind of upset me in a kill em all kind of way for letting this happen 🤬🤬🤬☹☹☹🦆

Starting to have a deep seated dislike of the NHS? I've had a general dislike of them since around 1995 when they operated on me as I had a major stomach pain (following on from having done my back in carrying an engine) that they diagnosed as appendicits. After they whipped my appendix out I tried to find out if it had actually been necessary (just out of curiosity) and the surgeon wouldn't tell me on his rounds and then at the post op 'check-up' the medico wouldn't tell me and for a number of weeks afterwards I had the same chronic pain I had been admitted to hospital for until, one day, there was a sort of 'snap' in my side and I could stand up properly again but, by then I was suffering from quite severe pain in my groin which has since been diagnosed as most likely 'adhesions' and scar tissue from the surgery and I have had that pain ever since then, around 2005 I was operated on for a stone in a salivary gland. Woke up to be told that they had failed to remove the stone despite slashing around at the inside of my mouth and, a couple of weeks later, in agony I discovered that one jagged part of the stone was jammed in the duct under my tongue and, with a hell of a lot of bloody pain I forced that bit out myself and I can tell you that doesn't half make yer feckin' eyes water! At the 'post op' the Surgeon a wee bastard Iraqi cnut asked the nurse and his assistant or whoever he was to leave the room before admitting to me that he had ballsed up and failed to clamp off the duct or something so, when he tried to grab the stone is disappeared back into the salivary gland where he couldn't get at it. Asked me what I would like to do about the stone now and I said I had heard there was an ultrasound technique that could be used to shatter the stone and he agreed to make that happen for me. Well, about six or eight months later I get an appointment for the Suffering Genital Hospital in Govan, Glasgow. Got up there and they said that they would love to try the technique on the stone but, as their machine was on the blink and the hospital administration refused to pay for repair they were in the process of building up a casload to try and persuade the administration to pay for repair or rental of another machine and I should go away and call in a year to see if they were up and running again. After a year I called and they told me there was no change and to call again in another year. The stone in the gland seems to have disappeared on it's own now although the scar tissue means that I have an infection/flare up in the gland roughly every six months but I have decided that I wouldn't let the NHS near it ever again. Quite frankly they are largely fuckin overpaid arseholes in my opinion.

About a year ago I was talking to a guy from down in New Zealand and he was saying he had exact same problem. He went into hospital down there and, without even putting him under they went straight down the salivary duct, broke up and dug out the stones on the spot and even stretched the duct so any future stones would pass out easily. Night and day between our shite system and theirs.

Hope she gets the treatment she needs in the right timeframe mate.
I've only had to utilise nhs services for trauma in the past (falling off bikes, hand/machinery interfaces) but I've recently had to get treatment for a 'yer close to the end of your perch' type ailment and it's been a mite frustrating. It's shit.

Lose your rag here if you need and not at the hospital mate, looks like you're going to need to be a rock.
