Starmer is now saying that immigration needs to be reduced, but Labour will say anything if they think it will get them elected, and then do nothing, deny all knowledge, or do totally the opposite, once in power.

The problem is that, while I have no doubt there is a 'plan' behind all this crap, it's half assed and devised by morons who only see human beings as pawns to be used and ground up to heap up wealth for them and their pals. It's the kind of stupidity that has brought down every empire. Entropy has well and truly set in and the future is only decay. If the Blacks and Asians think they are winning and becoming dominant they are sadly mistaken. There will be nothing but ashes to rule over and it will be sooner than a lot of folks realise. I suspect that part of the reason for the immigration problem is that global population is teetering on a knife edge with birth rates falling everywhere and male fertility in particular apparently less than half what it was a couple of decades ago. I suspect there will soon be a global race to collar as much cheap labour as possible. One of the reasons cited for Putin's abominable invasion of Ukraine was to secure manpower, by slavery if necessary, as Russia has a dire shortage of labour in a lot of regions.

I was one of the group of people DD67 mentioned seen and cut down a few dead bodies/slash ups dealt with many that would have no hesitation serously injuring or killing members of staff or each other in my 34years service. Most of the staff were ex forces when I joined and those of us who were not learnt so much off them that no amount of training could have given us. We needed 5 qualifcation to join back then, read, write, count, drink and fight.

He was probably looking for some snappy expression to make a point but institutions, by definition, don't possess personal characteristics. Homophobes, misogynists, racists etc., are individual people not things. Their hatreds exist in human minds not in some official handbook.

Institutions are characterised by those they recruit and the ethos they instil in them. There's usually a relation between the two. If you choose to challenge an ethos you need to be damned sure it doesn't come at the expense of the organisation's primary purpose.

The performance of modern police services (no longer forces, take note) and things like Grenfell would tend to suggest that is exactly what has happened. In amongst the goodies we are recruiting social workers and ne'er do wells or girlies who fancied graduating from the Brownies but who can't do a fireman's lift all in the name of some ism that has b all to do with policing a pub brawl or fighting a raging inferno. Fires are also relatively rare since the advent of oven chips! The blokes enjoy the physicality, the girls the comforts of an office; they migrate accordingly.

What we now have is a combo of crap politicians with zero real world experience and morally weak leadership. I saw it with the Forces where Chiefs were using the wrong units for some ops simply to prevent them being cut or conceding female employment as a delaying tactic while actually conceding the central point. I told the then CDS in Bosnia I'd rather have a gay man for every female because it was at least a minority sport. I now had the entire unit with their minds on the job - the wrong one - and fierce competition for the very few attractive ones including the marrieds and with rumours rife back at base. That's before you got NCOs competing to be the first to bonk an officer! I am sure buggery would not have been a first It is, after all, what we used to have a navy for. Now they can't even do a horn pipe.

This summer I got in to a steam rally as a pensioner, I'm 60, was going to say something but thought fck it I'll save a few quid and suck up the embarrassment.

You may not hate it but you see loads of comments on social media where people hate the country, but more likely hate what the country has become. Would you fight for this country now, I certainly wouldn't, and how many non British born or second generation folks would be volunteering ? Sadly the pattern we are seeing now is exactly the same pattern that the Roman ingress into Britain, the Angles and Saxons, Danes and Normans all followed. Historically the British people have only woken up to the dangers of people coming into the land from outside when it's too late to do anything about it. The early ones are welcomed or at the very least adopted by one tribe of Britons in order to gain the upper hand against another tribe of Briton's and those incomers send word home for their pals and they come in in larger and larger numbers until, finally, those who welcomed them realise that they are now under the rule of those they allied themselves with and join those who opposed the incomers all along but by then it's too late and the 'regime' has changed.
