I've never liked Salmond, weaselly ex banker with a huge ego. I think the claims against him were 'not proven' rather than not guilty.
Sturgeon was quite happy to turn a blind eye and wank him off for a lift up the greasy pole but she's taken a swing and missed badly when she's decided to stab him in the back.

Oh I think that Sturgeon and her cohorts knew that, unless they nailed him, Salmond would always be a threat to the 'throne', as, for many SNP sycophants Salmond is/was Mr SNP because it was he who brought them to the heights of their popularity. I suspect that whether there was any truth to the allegations or not the whole court case etc. was specifically cooked to try and de-fang him politically and it has backfired spectacularly.

Not quite the ex banker he might have you believe and professionally and financially much less minted than the ‘humble crofter’ Blackford.
Without betraying confidences & the source (senior RBS manager) who is now departed - Salmond was regarded by his bosses as low middle management at best who cut and paste an oil market magazine supposedly amounting to economic analysis in his self penned cv. His departure into full time politics after 5 junior yrs, exactly as with Sturgeon, solved a problem for his employers. He was apparently, much more interested in a lunchtime flutter and his political ambitions than the day job. He reportedly ‘had a gob on him’!
The court case basically foundered because the allegations amounted to sex pest not criminal assault as adjudged by a largely female jury. The not proven charge doesn’t exactly break new ground in reputational damage.

It doesn't surprise me that Salmond is more ego than ability. His current Alba project is more about fluffing his flaccid public persona than any genuine ideological drive. As any fule kno it'll be divisive and detrimental to the cause he purportedly supports. Because it's 'all about Alex'

Im trying to get an insurance quote on a Yamaha FJR1300 but according to the insurance quote comparison site my postcode doesn't exist and I should try a different postcode...Sure why not...How about Moscow or Windsor Castle or the fucking dark side of the moon....

What about an XJR 1300? Same lump, slightly detuned, but gobs of torque, loads lighter and no plastics. Like the one we saw at CMC.
