Safety? Good God man! This is motorcycling! You're supposed to be living on the edge, riding like a loony and takin' yer life in yer hands every time you let the clutch out! Well I suppose none of us would last that long if we didn't take some care as to how we ride but I do find myself uncomfortable with a bike that takes away your skills in reading the road and 'feeling' the machine under you and learning how it behaves and the manner of control that works best for you. I was actually pondering such things in our car today (2020 Renault Kadjar) when I was idly looking at how the machine 'graded' my gear change, 'anticipation and such. How the feck does the car know if my gear change is 'correct' or not? It can't see why I chose to change gear or not at a particular time and it's ideas of correct 'economical' driving is based on programming which doesn't take into account the particular roads I am driving, the traffic I am encountering or the weather.
