I like Morrissey... even if he is a vegan or vegetarian, I'll forgive him that 😜

Irish blood, English heart, this I'm made of
There is no one on earth I'm afraid of
And no regime can buy or sell me
I've been dreaming of a time when
To be English is not to be baneful
To be standing by the flag not feeling shameful
Racist or partial
Irish blood, English heart, this I'm made of
There is no one on earth I'm afraid of
And I will die with both of my hands untied
I've been dreaming of a time when
The English are sick to death of labor and Tories
And spit upon the name Oliver Cromwell
And denounce this royal line
That still salute him and will salute him forever

Fine words, but I still find him so depressing, "well" his past works

I have a view on pop and rock stars and sportspeople making political statements from the safety of their ivory towers. It's cowardly and if they feel that strongly then become a politician (God help us!) and actually try to change the rotten system from within.

I'd generally agree, however Morrissey has not gone with the herd, not being the usually sanctimonious lefty hypocrite. He was a member of For Britain, and has taken a lot of flak from the main stream because of it, and IMO its a refreshing change for a celebrity especially a pop/rock star to have so called "right wing" views.

Agreed, it is unusual for a "celebrity" to espouse any view even slightly right of centre. It's the likes of Bono and Lineker and others who really boil my piss, spouting their liberal/left wing crap from the comfort of their multi million pound mansions. Not many illegals living in the same street as them.
Made massively wealthy under the same system they'd like to tear down.

I totally agree with Alice cooper's view that 'celebrities' have no right to tell their fans who to vote for and, even though I generally admired Sean Connery I detested his campaigning for independence while enjoying life on a big pile of money in the Caribbean where Independence holds no worries. That prick Brian Cox, now that he has become famous across the pond is an odious little shit campaigning for the SNP and independence and decrying Farage and Reform while admiring his millions in the bank and dwelling in the USA. If it ain't going to influence you directly you have no right to tell others what's 'good' for them.
