What’s made you happy for a change

Global population growth is essentially driven by Africa now.

Agriculture in Africa is suffering because of climate change.

While some parts are doing OK, general economic growth in the region is poor due to corruption and outside interference.

By 2050, the tide of migration will be overwhelming as people head North for a better life.

No idea what the solution is.

Today we have the technology and knowledge to reclaim desert and make it fertile land. There are many projects doing exactly that, teaching farmers to grow native bushes and shrubs which protect the land and encourage crops to grow. Africa also has loads of free energy in a lot of sunshine, the power produced could be sold and/or used for atmospheric water production or water desalinisation, and then pumped for agricultural irrigation. Also one of the benefits of increased CO2 is the increased greening of the planet, which in turn also cools the land.

So I don't buy in to the food crisis in Africa being caused by climate change. In my opinion it is bollocks, a manufactured crisis, or only man made by means of neglect in not providing the right aid to help Africans look after themselves.

The problem with the 'developing' world is that, if you give them the means to produce more food, if of course you can avoid being declared a White supremacist trying to control them or some other sort of white evil monster, the increase in food supply would only result in increased production of children and an ever increasing problem. Africa already supports far more people than are naturally meant to live there as do most other coutries. The reality is that there are far too many people for one planet and we would, if we really gave a toss, be looking at moving out in search of other worlds using all resources we could and encouraging science and engineering rather than mobile phone tech and electric cars.

By nature most Africans are Tribal and kill each other for such, give them money they buy weapons, show them how to do things for themselves and they still kill each other feck em they were at their best when the white man ruled remove the white man and they revert to being tribal and killing

We have an energy crisis and a housing crisis so my solution would be to burn the illegals generating electricity and reducing the need for housing.

We have an obesity crisis too, my solution would be to make the morbidly obese walk/run on treadmills driving dynamos, it could solve the obesity problem, reduce the strain on the NHS and therefore tax payers, and also generate energy... win, win win! 😜

The bearings will be worn out before the fatties shed an ounce. The exercise myth can't compete with people shovelling industrial quantities of carbohydrates down their gullet.

Skimmers, perch, baby roach perfect(y)
I need a local mate who fishes to teach me the craft.
I can count the amount of times I've been river fishing on one hand. And it always involved more beer than fishing.
However, when on holiday abroad I always try to find a sea fishing trip. Even though I don't know my arse from my elbow re fishing. I'm mega jammy when it comes to the biggest fish & greatest number of fish caught during the trip.
It's a hobby that I could definitely get into 😃

Yep an Alcock’s Eclipse circa mid 50’s and modern Youngs true pin - today was their christening:D

Must perfect me Wallis cast:unsure:

Nice :) It was all carbon fibre and ABU 506s for me as did a lot of match fishing when younger, but haven't for years.

Got a mate suggesting I get back into it with him, but more specimen hunting - reckon I'll take him up on that.

That looks a lovely way to spend an afternoon!
