Nice :) It was all carbon fibre and ABU 506s for me as did a lot of match fishing when younger, but haven't for years.

Got a mate suggesting I get back into it with him, but more specimen hunting - reckon I'll take him up on that.

That looks a lovely way to spend an afternoon!

Thanks Doc, I have all the carbon kit too plus bait runners, optonics, etc etc but there’s something about getting back to basics and fishing the way they used to:)

Get back in there Doc it’s a great way to spend time in the Countryside (y)

I totally get that. Wouldn't be tempted by getting back into match fishing - too hectic - but camping for a couple of days after something big and chilling by a nice lake is definitely on the cards :)

Trailer for the film I did some 'extra' work on has come out, looks not bad actually.
Five days work and netted about thirteen hundred quid (one shoot went into good friday so double bubble)
And although I had to have a haircut, you get paid thirty odd quid for them to take scissors to tonsure :D

My NDA that I'm under ect ect.... :D

Seriously, we had to sign an NDA!

It was a shitload of fun if you like seeing under the bonnet of 'how shit is done', I'd def do another big feature. Got offers of a driving job in Town but it coincided with a train strike so, fuck that and a month or so ago there was a job that was in Kettering that was consecutive days but the travel/accom killed the 'bunce' factor. Not a bad 'paid hobby' tho!

You could have met myself, Scrappy & possibly other forum members whilst in Kettering.

Or is that part of the reason why you declined the job? 🤔 😗 😉

I used to do 'publicity' photos for a guy in Kilmarnock who did 'extra' work when I was in graphic design. He would come to me with photos and asked me to Photoshop in an M16, Kalashnikov or whatever he wanted to finish the 'image' in his Portfolio shots or edit him into other photos that he thought would look good. I don't know how he got the work as he would be cast as things like Squaddie, or Armed Response Unit officer etc. and the guy was over sixty, knock kneed and so skelly (cross eyed) that his right eye was looking over your left shoulder and the left over your right.

Well I was on Hitchcocks looking for a replacement carburettor manifold as I had discovered that mine had a wee split in it and, while cruising the aisles, I discovered that they have brand new examples of the fibreglass seat unit that was made to go along with the Watsonian Sportsman cafe racer tanks. Not cheap at a little north of £200 but I decided to treat myself as the chances are that I'd never find another one cheaper.
