One of my covid jabs was one of the batches produced in India and therefore not recognised by the EMA, which meant I couldn’t fly out to Malta last week.
Last night they re-evaluated it and I can now fly out. Ryanair £14.99 out to Malta on Sunday

Without exception, all the best nights out I've had have been organised out of the blue & at short notice.
Tuesday was just such an occasion!

It’s long been my experience the things you look forward to seldom match expectations whereas spontaneous outbursts are the best. Anyway, that’s enough about my long lost love life 
Something else that occurred to me regarding our fairly plush accommodation (compared to a bunkhouse)
At only £17.50 per person per night. It was not only cheaper than a night in a bunkhouse. We had a restaurant/bar onsite & a bathroom between two. Not 3 bathrooms between 30 of us.
The total cost was probably slightly more due to not doing our own cooking or supplying our own booze, but not massively so.
Plus whilst there are only a few of us. If we used the same style of accommodation again for a forum meet up. There'd be none of the current issues with trying to fill a 30 bed bunkhouse

How about we try to sort out another meet up for early/mid September? The venue can be based on a central location after a show of hands from those that are interested.
The Marston's pub/hotel we stayed in on Tuesday is part of a large (ish) chain. The accommodation was perfectly acceptable (especially for the price) & the restaurant prices were very reasonable. Those large plates of grub you saw came from a carvery. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, the waitress had to fill our plates for us. I'm sure we could do much better when filling them ourselves

Hi Gents, Don The Don is coming down to a place called Gailey in Staffordshire for a family wedding later this month. He asked Public Enemy if he wanted to meet up for a cuppa 13/7/21. He asked me, then I found out Duck was off work in mid July so I asked him. Scrappy is now joining us as well...

I always enjoyed the lads being able to to take the piss…..appropriately in a mutually respectful kind of way. I remember crying with laughter at the beginning of one squadron party when they (a Sgt & SSgt set me up with a practical joke that involved me getting very wet. Maybe it’s a measure of the relationship that I sniffed a rat, sidestepped but didn’t spoil their joke?
