Absolutely brilliant time had with a top bunch of lads..shame more didn't make it but was top company..I felt right at home with other tossers of the same caliber as myself...
Thanks for all the gifts @Don the Don @Doc Strange @DD67 and Mrs DD I done nothing to earn any of it so I don't understand but thank you all..
Thanks for dinner don and thanks for breakfast @Scrappy
I had a great time with good people and top conversation from being daft as a brush to serious..I loved it
Without exception, all the best nights out I've had have been organised out of the blue & at short notice.
Tuesday was just such an occasion!
I haven't had a laugh like that in a long time 🙂

Something else that occurred to me regarding our fairly plush accommodation (compared to a bunkhouse)
At only £17.50 per person per night. It was not only cheaper than a night in a bunkhouse. We had a restaurant/bar onsite & a bathroom between two. Not 3 bathrooms between 30 of us.
The total cost was probably slightly more due to not doing our own cooking or supplying our own booze, but not massively so.
Plus whilst there are only a few of us. If we used the same style of accommodation again for a forum meet up. There'd be none of the current issues with trying to fill a 30 bed bunkhouse 🙂

Edit...
How about we try to sort out another meet up for early/mid September? The venue can be based on a central location after a show of hands from those that are interested.
The Marston's pub/hotel we stayed in on Tuesday is part of a large (ish) chain. The accommodation was perfectly acceptable (especially for the price) & the restaurant prices were very reasonable. Those large plates of grub you saw came from a carvery. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, the waitress had to fill our plates for us. I'm sure we could do much better when filling them ourselves 😋

If anyone is wondering why they didn't get an invite to our micro meet up on Tuesday?
Try clicking this link...
I posted it 01/7/21 but apparently @Public Enemy can't view that post or the entire meet up section. Presumably due to a glitch in the forum matrix?
If you find you can't view it. Get on to @Judd Dredd.

I still can't view this. Have already asked @Judd Dredd, although that was before his accident.

Edit. As if by magic, I can now see this, and all the others in the rides and meets section.

Just as well I am too far North to have ruined it for you. I am a bit of a pig myself 🐽
We all appreciate that there haven't been many times in your life that "the troops" could be so cheeky towards you Sir.
But you seem to be accepting it fairly well so far?
So pop down for some full on pi$$ taking action & beer purchasing from your enormous army pension 🙂
In return, we'll pretend you're not a massive Cockwomble, until you stop buying the beers Sir 🙃

I always enjoyed the lads being able to to take the piss…..appropriately in a mutually respectful kind of way. I remember crying with laughter at the beginning of one squadron party when they (a Sgt & SSgt set me up with a practical joke that involved me getting very wet. Maybe it’s a measure of the relationship that I sniffed a rat, sidestepped but didn’t spoil their joke?

Buy you lot beer? 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I’d need that chair😩

How much pension do you think CINCNAGHOME allows me? She’s the stuffed shirt, not me!
