The problem is that there is a huge gulf between the maximum weight that are pulled by women and men and there is no way that a 'transgender' doesn't have a gross advantage over women weightlifters. I suspect that there are some seriously warped individuals in sport who wouldn't balk at going trans just so that they can win trophies as winning is all to those sad individuals and cheating or unfair advantage doesn't seem to phase them at all.

But that then becomes a sort of indulgence of the most over-sensitive people in your culture, the people who are most easily upset … I don’t think we should organise a society around the sensibilities of the most easily upset people because then you have a very neurotic society.

The Govt is taking forward legislation to protect free speech on university campuses and prevent controversial voices being silenced.
This is something I totally support and emailed my MP to tell him so.
Of course the union opposes it. But I told him to ignore them as they're part of the problem.
I can't wait until I get an opportunity to slip this into a conversation with my 'colleagues' at work

The trick is when I say something I know will wind up my more self-righteous, middle-class colleagues, I always slip into a broader Cockney accent than I usually use.
This massively confuses them as they like to think they are on the side of the 'working class' so don't like to challenge me!

As I say to friends and family when their kids are thinking about uni - do a clearly useful degree, or if you really want to do arts/social sciences (I did) make sure you do it at a top university if you want your qualification to be worth the paper it's written on.
Basically grammar schools used to give the working class a leg up - the middle class 'left' abolished them.
No fee and a grant at uni gave the working class a leg up - the middle class 'left' introduce fees while 'expanding higher education' so every middle class kid whose parents can afford it can be bought a bit of paper from somewhere.
I don't see anything here designed to help working people get ahead.
Just a policy of creating lots of opportunities for their own off spring in the public sector.
