I think you guys know my guitar lessons story? If not, here ya go!......The guitar might as well go in the bin, for the lack of progress I've made trying to play the fecking thing
Your big mistake @Scrappy is not having a Bigsby on that Gretsch! I've bought four Gretsch's this year after deciding that I wanted to play guitar again (still blasting away on my trumpets too though) and every one absolutely had to have a Bigsby, it's an essential part of the package. Even if you can only play one chord, using the Bigsby on it makes you sound like a Rockabilly God. Unfortunately real progress on the guitar takes years. That incredible fossil, Keith Richards was interviewed a wee while ago and said that he is still learning.
I keep blowing my own trumpet, but no fecker takes any noticestill blasting away on my trumpets too though
In my world Jaco Pastorius, amazing technically but I find boring. I tried to get in to it but couldn't.Nah anyone can play with enough practice and training the hands to do what they need to do when they need to do it as long as you've got two hands and a sense of rhythm the rest is just training. Now being 'great' is a different thing and some people are terrific technical players but I find them bloody boring. Steve Vai is one of them for me. Yes his abilities on the instrument are incredible but I just don't get no swing from his sounds. On the other hand some guitars are incredibly limited in their technical skills but they sure can play a rockin' tune.
I wish I was still that supple.I keep blowing my own trumpet, but no fecker takes any notice
You need a certain developer mate, you won't have to bend over so far thenI wish I was still that supple.
