What have you done to your bike today....

I have to agree with the thoughts about a lot of riders on the roads. The number of riders I've seen on the roads in recent years going up the white line, with oncoming traffic and in damp and windy conditions beggars belief and it's clear a lot of the time that it's because their mates have shot off up past the traffic, when there hasn't been any oncoming and they don't want to lose them and so take stupid risks rather than risk a slagging for being slow or chicken. I've always been of the opinion that, if my mates fuck off up the road and leave me with oncoming traffic then they can just fuck off and I'll go off and play on my own. I ain't gonna let risk anything just because the 'leader' of the pack has decided to fuck off into the sunset.

I remember going down to a HA do in Kent called the Kent Custom many years ago.
About a dozen of us set off & had agreed to meet up at South Mimms services on the M25.
Because I didn't have a sports bike & did have a rack & panniers I got overloaded with loads of extra luggage.

Long story short. I sat with the trucks at between 55-60mph.
Got to the RV & the others had stories of 140mph+
But strangely some were still in the shop.paying & buying grub or filling up their bikes.

That taught me that over a decent distance. A steady sensible speeds isn't much slower than going for it balls out.

And you do arrive. Too many don’t.

Hmm I wish I knew where it came from so I could share it with you guys off Facebook but I'm not 'tech savvy' enough to do that. Basically it's a well done video, I assume it's computer generated and shows a guy playing 'follow the leader' and pulls out from behind a truck into the path of an oncoming truck at which point the 'action' freezes, he then leaves his body and is collected by the grim Reaper in person as the action re-starts and his bike and body are destroyed by the truck. It's not 'graphic' at all but definitely has an impact.

I picked up the Scout Bobber and the FTR yesterday afternoon. This morning I swapped the seat and the silencers, then put just over 100 miles on her.

Stopped at a favourite picture location, and then later at a pub for a quick coke. There was a gathering of guys on push bikes who were admiring the Bobber, in their words "all having orgasms, at how beautiful it is" 😄

Erm!...
Questions may be asked when you say you ride a "Scout"? (Dib-dib-dob-dob etc 😗)

But I'd keep the bit about cyclist MAMIL's liking it, very quiet! 😳 😉

BTW...
I saw it up close today. And it does look very nicely finished. I'm not a fan of the matt black paint but everything else looked good.
I'm looking forward to a close up look at his FTR next 😃

Great bike @Scrappy , as Jez, the matt black is not to my liking I prefer Indian Red, but you enjoy mate and let's get a pic of the FTR, so the Bonny has gone 😢, now get all the old spares together and have a sale.

It was a dark day in Northamptonshire, the streets were lined with old biddies their heads bowed and hankies were grasped in their hands, The flags flew at half mast as the old Triumph Bonnie exited the town for the last time, No more the gay blade enticing the old girls to swoon and blush at her magnificent lines and the steed of Northamptonshire's own Don Juan, El Scrappy, alas poor Bonnie we knew her well.
