Interesting little fact - One of the first people to start bastardising the English Language in the USA was President Theodore Roosevelt. Apparently he was rotten at spelling and rather than try and improve he worked out simplified spellings for American intellects and issued an executive order in regard of them. He was laughed at and apparently the American public felt that the British in particular were ridiculing them over their inability to properly spell English words but gradually his spellings have worked their way into American language. Interestingly those 'odd' spellings we employ in the United Kingdom employ are generally very accurate ways of telling an educated English speaker how words they haven't encountered before should be pronounced although some are archaic spelling which were originally pronounced differently such as Knight and Knife where the K wasn't originally silent.

I think a huge amount is non-native speakers in much US immigration and phonetic spelling e.g. color v colour taking hold compounded by American English spellcheckers. It’s infecting us!

Was just watching a program on the Telly about MacDonalds and by God the folks that hate MacDonalds really, really hate them don't they? They seem to be almost beyond rationality claiming all manner of negative health impacts of the burger etc. which have oft been disproved.
Why do the 'anti' obesity mob always seem to be overweight, pasty faced and unhealthy looking?
I never thought I'd see the day when folk promoted eating 'meat free meat' made from 'meat, if you can really call it that grown in a laboratory from Cow stem cells' as if it was a perfectly normal thing to do.

Apparently it's MacDonalds fault that people were willing to 'supersize', it's MacDonalds fault that people will buy from them in the hopes of winning a free burger or whatever and on and on. They failed to highlight things like the fact that that 'supersize me' tosser wasn't forced to eat the massive amounts he did or that there is actually a lot more additives etc. in the average processed meal from a supermarket than there is in a MacDonalds Cheeseburger. They really are Nazi's who actually would probably be over the moon if they could have all humanity held in camps where they would be fed and 'reared' not to mention indoctrinated according to their wishes.

I very rarely eat MacDonalds and when I do it's double cheeseburgers. The last time was somewhere around the middle of last year I think. I've never had their Nuggets the fillet of Fish thing, don't really 'get' the fries and never had a McFlurry thing. Don't worry though, if the rabid Do as You are Told mob get their way Chippie's, Bacon and everything else that makes life worth living will be banned as well and we will be fed on some laboratory engineered and grown slurry.

The absolute arrogance of it, corporations think they can artificially make something that claims to be something like beef in a year or two, when we have the real thing perfected over millions of years by nature (or God if that's your thing) - It is not for the good of anyone but the profit and wealth of the share holders of those corporations.

Same as a trying to merge humans with computers, when the human brain is the most powerful computer there is, and I believe we are only using a fraction of its potential.

Artificially messing with our food, our environment, and our brains, is what is going to really fuck the human race, not eating meat or climate change.

One more thing about McDonalds: In my experience, the variety and quality of their food differs from country to country; with the worst being delivered in the U.S. Which in itself leads to different social groups eating there.
In Germany, you find folk of any social background at McDo‘s. Mainly though, it is middle-class-families with many kids and handymen on lunch break etc.
I did try two or three McDos in the U.S. and not only were their burgers disgusting and the fries spongy, the Coke full of chlorine, no: the patrons there represented those who were, after 45 years of trying, still having a hard time believing in the American dream (and definitely couldn’t spell “self fulfilling prophecy“)…

So I don’t know about the quality of the ingredients in the U.S., but even though you might want to call it “trash food” over here in Germany, the self-imposed food-quality controls at their chains are very strict.
Since the beginning of the Pandemic-Fascism I have not been to any chain restaurant and before that, it was only once, or twice in every three months and that was for breakfast (I love their Sausage & Egg Muffins and their coffee is surprisingly good as well over here too).
