Don’t care about the party. The BIG takeaway is their knowledge of NO MATERIAL RISK. Chew on it. You’ll spit.
It's a line of argument I hadn't considered till you mentioned it a few days ago. It is, to say the least, a though provoking point.Don’t care about the party. The BIG takeaway is their knowledge of NO MATERIAL RISK. Chew on it. You’ll spit.

I have no issue with tax avoidance. It is entirely sensible tax planning. I do have an issue with the legislators who pretend the tax code isn’t down to them.
Avoidance is absolutely fine, legal, and essentially ethical - Evasion will land you in jailYeah, but 'entirely sensible tax planning' isn't necessarily the same as 'ethical'.
But totally agree about legislators.
Also HMRC needs more resources to pursue those who actually break the law too.

Well if there was ethics in busIness we wouldn’t have to worry about the industry fined $13Bn in the last 5 yrs for criminal trading of all types. The former President of the EU Commission as Prime Minister of Luxembourg went out of his way to recruit tax avoiders to his jurisdiction. The Irish GNP is massively inflated by US Multinationals hiding inside their tax jurisdiction to offshore profits…. But Brussels has just derailed that gravy train so watch Eire become Eurosceptic as economic reality returns….Yeah, but 'entirely sensible tax planning' isn't necessarily the same as 'ethical'.
