I finally had everything I needed to put the Duckmobile back together yesterday so bright and early I got cracking on it...
Long story short new thermostat water pump power steering pump gaskets and seals and et voila it started up nicely and everything seemed fine...
Then the bloody temperature gauge started rising and bit of a coolant under the car...
How can this be???
I replaced everything...
Though that so called water pump gasket looked shit to me and was nothing more than a cut out piece of paper so that's got me wondering...
Coolant level is fine this morning but it's still over heating...
WTF else can I do???? ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿฆ†

Did you get all the air out the system? did you refill slowly or just chuck the water back in? take the pressure cap off and start her and squeeze the hoses to help remove any air {DONT get your mitts near the belts or fan] turn the heater to hot and run untill she warms up [air can be in that system too] replace cap and see what the system temp looks like

Done it all nice and slow..Even jacked the front of the car up in an attempt to remove any air pockets...
Nothing is coming back through the return coolant pipe unless I squeeze a hose myself but even then it's just a trickle...
I would drop the radiator and flush that out thinking that's blocked but unfortunately I can't raise the car high enough to get clearance to pull rad out from underneath...๐Ÿฆ†

@BAD LUCK DUCK that hose looks more like an overflow hose in the picture, squeeze the main top and bottom hose and put the heater to max heat and full power then run it if you squeese the bottom and top hose you should see the water rise and lower and any air will bubble up. what you should have done when you emptied the rad was put a hose pipe into flush the rad or even jugs of water to flush it out, keep trying and persevere, some cars have bleed screws on the water system "check"

Didn't work...
That top pipe is the return pipe from the thermostat...
I couldn't flush the system with a hose pipe as I'd need an exceptionally long pipe and couldn't justify over a ยฃ100 on a garden hose..
I've now downed tools and will have to get someone to come and sort it...
Just watched a you tube video on removing radiator and its a bastard and I don't have the equipment or patience any more with this particular issue...
And now a bloody engine light as come on so fuck knows...๐Ÿฆ†
