You "sad, sad, sad barsteward" if all you have to worry about is a lump of ice the size of a good trickle of piss then you need to get a life, who gives a feck if scotland is snow and ice free again and lets blame global warming even though it has happened before hundreds of years ago, with all the hot air from hollyrood it's no wonder the temp has risen, rant over.

I am increasingly convinced that the idea that Mankind has anything to do with 'Global Warming' is utter bullshit and I find it quite incredible that supposedly well educated, experts, can't see all the inconsistencies. Even that report would 'suggest' that this patch had never melted before in three hundred years but, further down the article, it states that it has melted away a number of times in the last century and where they claim it had never melted before then? Well I reckon people in the 1600's, 1700's and 1800's had much better things to do than keep an eye on a wee patch of snow. I am praying we get ourselves a 'mini ice-age' soon to really put the mockers on the bastards and their false claims.

Oh on the subject of 'man-made' climate change apparently in the days when Hannibal crossed the Alps I bet most people have an image of him fighting through blizzards of snow on his elephant well apparently there was no ice and snow at that time in that area because of 'global warming' long before the Industrial revolution and a programme I was watching a while back that claimed that, and the Veggie's should check this out, Rice growing releases more methane into the air and uses more water resources pound for pound than cattle farming. The programme wasn't even about climate change so it, at least on the surface anyway, didn't appear to have any axe to grind and was merely stating facts.

I have little doubt it's BS propagated by those who would happily see our ruin (China & Russia) via anti-capitalist cranks and politicIans who used it to justify additional taxation and now can't think how to get themselves off the hook. The 'crank' bracket includes the soft left wokery who are too virtuous and intellectually lazy to ask a few hard questions about the archaeological record. Enough about the latest Mrs Johnson.....

Scientists? Research is either commercial or academic. 99% of academic research is paid for by the taxpayer at political direction. The ideal gig is something like the Uni of East Anglia in a tie up with the Met Office justifying endless research into climate change because it's a bit like the political advertising budget for the entire industry. You simply won't find a bureaucrat trying to oust themselves out of steady work with a tidy pension at close of play,..... and the politicians have to appear to be taking it seriously too so keep funding them. It's a fraction of the bigger tax take.

It's a self licking lollipop as evidenced by the IPCC 'shush' to releasing hard data showing zero warming for the last 15 yrs.

Just had my new DD payment from EDF £229 (£2748 a year) up from £164 for a 2BED BUNGALOW fully insulated new double glazing and a 2 year old gas boiler thats the instant type only comes on on demand for hot water and goes off when the taps switch off, thieving c**ts Thought it was capped at £2500 sorry forgot to mention we are both OAP's.

I don't understand why this is not being sorted out..
Old lady uses my bus as just had her bill per month go from £69 - £380 something...
I can't see any justification for this other than greed...
She's gonna freeze to death this winter or get into so much debt with energy bills she'll be forced to sell her home and be forced to Be Happy to Own Nothing...
Makes me angry as fuck 😡😡😡😡🦆

If she pays via direct debit. Tell her to cancel it.
That'll get the energy company wanting to talk to her. Rather than simply taking that crazy amount out of her bank account.

I'm sure there are 1000's of folk that used to donate money to the RNLI. That don't do so now.
In the example given by @gazzatriumph. If the vessel was in trouble surely it was the responsibility of the French coastguard.
If the RNLI boat happened to be closer at the time, then fair enough.
But why didn't it carry out the rescue to save lives (as per the reason for its existence) then return the migrants to France.
Why did it make the longer journey back to the UK with them?

I wonder how the majority of the volunteer crew of the lifeboats. Feel about being used as a taxi service for illegal immigrants?

Those thieving pikey bastards south of the Thames!

Stayed with me mate in Dartford last night ahead of taking me mum out for lunch and getting new rubber put on the GS, and this morning we get up to discover someone had a go at the ignition and steering lock and tried to walk away the bike - brake lever lock saved it along with the timely arrival of a neighbour back home clocking them - a lovely 4' 22 Hindu lady who you wouldn't imagine confronting 3 young men in the dark!

Had to come back on train and will be going back next Satt o collect from me garage, who have got more work than planned!

TBH I was quite phlegmatic about it - not had a bike or car nicked before and it's bound to happen some time, but my mate was incensed, and pissed off at the way it makes Dartford look.

The knowledge that I'll never let him forget it and will use it as a source of humour forever was probably a factor - and justly so as I've already started a lively piss take on another forum we're on!

If folks I know in Edinburgh are to be believed anything with two wheels is fair game now as long as it goes it can be used for robbery or general joyriding. A number of German tourists in Scotland's capital this summer had their shiny BMW's stolen from outside their hotels and then joyridden around the city before being torched.
