I had a whole wee Golly band not that many years ago. It's funny actually, there is no doubt that Gollywogs were caricatures based on the Minstrel performers of the late 1800's. A lot of those minstrel bands were made up of black performers and musicians wearing makeup and parodying the 'down home' black people of the old south and performed to both black and white audiences. It was like a Jewish Comedian making jokes about Jewish stereotypes and not malicious the way it's being portrayed nowadays In short it was really meant only as entertainment and the Gollys are jolly little toys for children now who wouldn't have a clue that they are meant to represent black people from the deep south of the USA.

But my idea of recklessly breaking the speed limit & deserving to be punished is 50mph in a 30mph limit etc.
Back in the days before Gatso cameras & covert camera vans. A Cop would never have booked us for accidentally creaping over the limit by 6mph. I very much doubt we'd have even been pulled over for a "chat"

Camera vans & other similar technology are 97% about revenue generation & only 3% about road safety.
And now that they are using unmarked stealth versions. They can't even hide behind the bullshit claim that the vans are a deterrent

Has there not been a whole series of shootings in Northampton recently? I seem to recall a report of two youngster being shot in a park and reference to another previous incident where there were two cars involved in an incident where the occupants were shooting at each other. Perhaps the police, useless aresholes though most of them are might be better used trying to get the gangsters and guns off the street rather than trying to catch old Sid who just happens to be going a wee bit over the speed limit. Surely gunfights on the streets are more of a priority? Oh sorry I forgot that, when it comes to the pigs it's cash that's king.
