It finally popped when I decided I was gonna put a angle grinder on it..now I can see one bit that looks dodgey...would that be enough ( if indeed that is actually anything to do with the fuel pump ) to prevent power going to the fuel pump overnight to not work ever again..

That connector certainly won't help anyway. Lot of corrosion in there! Problem is if that corrosion extends up the wire and a wire has broken inside due to corrosion. You might need to do some continuity testing on all the wires.

I had a very same thing happen to my ZX7. Then one of my pals said don’t jet wash it.
Once a new plug with copious amounts of WD40, had the bike for a further 5 years and no problems again
Duck jet washes his with snow and salt. Then rides naked through the winter with just a thin coating of ACF50!

@BAD LUCK DUCK how many wires are there on that connection block? it maybe worthwhile fitting a new block and rewiring, it does not have to be a Triumph block a specialist waterproof block will do the job, Consider your options and let us know what you intend to do, If you won't to rewire and are not worried about using a Triumph block one or more other blocks would do Decide them let us all know before spending any money, may be able to help with bits

Maybe at a later date but right now it's got a hefty piece of blue ( proper blokes colour ) wire with some heavy duty connectors doing the job...It will do for the moment as you ain't got any extra wire down there to be snipping and fitting a new block connector although I agree that would be the perfect solution..

I got overtaken by one of my wheels about 3hrs ago. WTF!?!

They are not stopped by much! They’re also quite narrow between balloon tyres so they don’t belly like a LR axle deep on soft ground. You surf over boulders!

I don’t need an argocat I’ve got a q7 it floats, does 0-60 in 2 seconds, if you hit a bump above 50 it actually flies
