I always wonder why so few of the 'clasics' are shown these days.
Possibly because a few snowflakes might be offended, melt, and breakdown in to a blubbering mess, at any depiction of life that isn't all warm and cosy wrapped in cotton wool.
I watched "A Bridge Too Far" the other day on TV, and before the film started there was a warning saying it contained disturbing scenes that some people might find upsetting. FFS!!
These films were shown when I was a kid, and no one ever got "upset". A lot of the great war movies were made and shown within the life times of those that served, who witnessed the horror first hand, or within a few years of the loss of a family member... but no one needed trigger or upset warnings before a film was shown up until very recently.
