Not funny. I went to a Carnival in Duisburg where it was all Plattdeutsch. Virtually unintelligible to anyone schooled in High German it made the yokels in the Allgäu sound elocuted! Far worse than drunken Dutch.

As for the ruination of poor Germany I weep for you. I gather the Bielefeld I once knew no longer exists….. and they had knife carrying Turks aplenty.

I don‘t know Jez. He published with the Lappan Verlag. But also had his work in the „Spiegel“ magazine I think.
Above cartoon was an answer to the mob that abused women in the night of December 31st, 2016 in front of the Köln railwaystation.
He was the German Gary Larson and known for his biting black humor.

Sad side note: Martin Perscheid died last week at the age of 55 succumbing to cancer…

But I am sure that he would be most happy to still make us all laugh with his art-work!

This has made me slightly happy, I know the shit will hit the fan sooner or later (probably sooner) but I find a quiet satisfaction with solitude and nature,The more I see of this world of ours the more I am prepared to just go it alone at some point, I honestly am getting to the point of just giving up most of my possessions and doing my own thing, 3 of my 5 sons will be leaving this month and the wife and I have completely differing views and passions.Only the doggo keeping me here at the moment,16 months to retirement and that will probably be the spur to get going (good health remaining).
