That genuinely surprises me. If I want an item to give good service (and we know you do with vehicles) I'll keep it in good order. You've been polishing them haven't you, that's cheating!
My Screwfix specials have no clue what polish is.
#time4adietI once bought a pair, walked out of the shop wearing them and the sole had split in two by the time I got home!
An amazing transformation Jez, they’ve come up so well they almost look like a different pair of bootsAfter you lot relentlessly bullying me about polishing work boots
I've buckled & given mine a bit of TLC...

Chas, I was just pulling DD‘s leg, since he always points me eastwards whenever I show up on top of my half-track…In German or English? Not taking the piss, purely curious.
Thanks for the compliment by the way! They are 22 years old. They look brand new.

Yet they still manage to look ruggedly utilitarian

We need you to speak English, please. ‘Gotten’ is 18th Century English as spoken by Ron. The French have similar problems with Canadians. ‘Got’ is just fine. Americans don’t realise how antiquated they are. Thanks for the compliment by the way! They are 22 years old.
And yes, I apply special leather grease regularly…. and polish them, of course.
They have gotten new soles on them though a while back.
I was honestly surprised how well made they are!
A friend of mine spent a bucket-full of €s and lost a sole on his 3rd hike in the Alps. And believe me: losing a sole in the middle of nowhere is not fun
Well you are both wrong. Jez’s are little better than sling backs while yours, Jeez!Jeez, in the style of Crocodile Dundee - Those are not boots..... These are BOOTS!

Those aren't exactly the model of boots I wear when I am doing a spot of shitkicking but the same type of boot. Fireproof, waterproof, steel caps, steel midsole, reinforced heel, tough as anything, comfy as hell, you just pull the buggers on and go and, come the apocalypse, I guarantee they will survive even if there is just a few puffs of smoke left where I was stood in them! If I want to do a spot of hiking I wear my Army Pro boots which I bought around eight years ago. They are good but nowhere near as good as the older version of the Pro Boot. I wore out the soles on a couple of pairs of old Pro Boots without ever polishing or even cleaning them and they were still waterproof and had no tears or splits. I only ditched them because it was more expensive to get the soles replaced than to buy new boots.
Maybe it's just me but I can wreck so-called work boots in a couple of days no matter what the brand. I once bought a pair, walked out of the shop wearing them and the sole had split in two by the time I got home!
Sound of freedom mate, a wonderfull noiseWhen you get a day off and have the sound of Rolls Royce Merlin engines every few hours overhead......
Talking of your recently discovered favourite tipple. I've been meaning to show you this.Someone is bringing me some money at 1600hrs for my old triumph...I could really use another bottle of jamesons crested so of I get enough for a bottle of that I'm happy...
