I assumed the caliper was off the bike otherwise unbolt from disc block the pistons alternately with wood and use hydraulic pressure. Brasso cleans everything pretty well then clean thoroughly (fine abrasive) and renew all seals.

Just replaced the front brake reservoir cap and rubber on the Monster. I noticed the other day that it was leaking brake fluid, when opened it became apparent that it had been overfilled and that the rubber seal was deformed

When changing coolant I generally just stick a hose in the filler cap with the bottom drain hose still off, blast clean water through until what comes out it clean, you'll be amazed at the crud that comes out. Once that's done, drain hose back on & refill with coolant, job's a good'un!

I generally do it the other way, against the coolant flow, shifts more shite that way.

And it its a decent rad, a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda first then fill with boiling water (off the engine of course) soak then flush.

A really decent rad, off the engine, kettle descaler, then flush.

Thanks for your help, got 2 out but the other caliper is being a right b8stard I can move them round in the caliper just struggling to grip them only about 4/5mm of the pistons showing. the first 2 are scrap and these 2 will be too

Might be worth trying to blast them out with high pressure compressed air through the brake line port.

Meanwhile I’ve been tinkering,she’s more of a Rambler than a Bonnie ,but not quite a scrambler.

I could leave my bike outside, and not one scroat would even entertain the idea. That wouldn't stop the weathering, so that's why it has to be inside something and the only reason why.
