What have you done to your bike today....

Got to see my son this evening, for the first time in months, so had a great nearly 120 mile run on the Monster.

I discovered two things today - First is that modern bike headlights are fecking awesome, I was amazed how well the road was illuminated, and high beam was brilliant. Secondly that deprived of a barber for months my son's hair has an uncanny resemblance to Marouane Fellaini 😜

Nice blast on the Daytona - nothing insane but a proper run, and it all worked fine.

Checked in garage after an hour and no unwanted puddles, so all good.

I now consider that chapter of fettling closed :)

Confident it won't spill its guts at Donny!

Hoping for a good summer of riding before needing to do anything again.

Annie took me for a spin to "Last of the summer wine" country this afternoon. Yes, yes, my spiritual home! Really warm and perfect riding conditions. The new tyres are finally scrubbed in. View attachment 5044View attachment 5045View attachment 5046Nice little hot rod parked at Oil Can cafe.
Great photos mate, Annie is looking fantastic 🤗
That hotrod/ratrod looks the dogs bits! 🙂
Was it a Ford Pop with the roof chopped? What engine did it have?

Well I took a quick spin out today just to blow away the cobwebs even though it's been damp and grey all day here. Unfortunately one road out of my village is closed from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, at the moment as apparently there is some sort of fungus in the larch trees up that way that means the forestry have been ordered to be destroy them and. until they are finished (expected to be June 🤬 ) they will be following this closure pattern and the other road is littered with gravel and needs some patching. Not the greatest fun and, of course, just about everywhere they have roadworks in place because it's the end of the financial year. Buggers better have it sorted for when/if the good weather arrives!

Sudden Larch Death. It has become a big problem in the damp SW from Kircudbright upwards and in NI and NW England. You get areas of brown, dying trees visible for miles. Naturally great blocs of monoculture help it to spread 🙄. T’ain’t natural even if the SE Asian fungus is. More cultural enrichment!!
