Don the Don
Legendary Knight
By the way, like your new avator it is really you mate
I agree...like so many limp wristed faggity individual's ( I don't mean I'm a limp wristed faggity individual ) i find it frustrating and difficult to be my true self but on this occasion I think that I may have cracked it on the avatar frontBy the way, like your new avator it is really you mate
Not to worry mate...They look ideal on youtube and simplicity itself..Yo Duck, I'm really sorry you have struggled with the heatshrink connectors wouldn't have suggested them if I'd thought that would happen.
Could it be the ambient temperature & the fact you're doing the work outside Duck?Im not exactly sure why the solder won't melt...
Heat shrink part of it is beautiful..
I have had the same issue with those myself Duck. Not to worry mate...They look ideal on youtube and simplicity itself..

Well it was minus three outside but if Ron as had problems as well it makes me wonder...Could it be the ambient temperature & the fact you're doing the work outside Duck?
It ain't exactly tropical at the minute is it mate.
I'm guessing you used them whilst indoors and have all the proper kit aswell Ron...I have had the same issue with those myself Duck.
BTW, I like the avatar as well.
They do work mate, I've used them a few times.Well it was minus three outside but if Ron as had problems as well it makes me wonder...
Would your landlady let you put a shed in the garden?Sent them connectors back as not any good in a real life situation...
Will get a full refund....

Just did this so I could get pictures, the connectors were brought from Amazon, and I used this heat gun: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07VLK9M5Z

After heat (only took a few seconds, indoors)...

Not a great picture but the solder had melted and covered all the way around, and it ain't coming apart.
Previously I'd used one of these heat guns below, and that worked but did take longer as the heat wasn't as focused.

Already have a shed in the garden for all the wife's gardening stuff...Would your landlady let you put a shed in the garden?
For the right side of £200 you'd have somewhere dry & warm(er) than the patio. To work on your bike.
I'd be putting up a sign facing upwards with "Fuck off Biggles" on it. In fact, ye could work under it.....strict in fact that they regularly send aircraft over in the summer months photographing the entire park to make sure no one as put up anything they shouldn't
And use the sign as a marker,......errrmmm didn't someone do that in Wales because they were fed up being overflown by Hercs on training? I seem to recall the result was that they flew lower and made more noise.
