Look at Satanists. They are reviled when discovered, but how many people have they killed in the name of religion when compared to Islam or Christianity?
Well there’s not many of ‘em. Pro rata you might find their taste for human sacrifice makes the premier league? And Islam is noW about as mature as Christianity was when the Crusades were launched. Meanwhile not much love lost between Sunni and Shia as it was (is?!) between Protestants and Catholics…..

I feel your pain - will be riding back from Cornwall that day.

Nearly booked that trackday too, but we already had something on for that date.

The rain is def starting to get on my tits.
Plus the unpredictability of the forecasts (guess work) Chas.
I went at an outdoor project yesterday like a man possessed, & did my back a mischief in the process.
The reason for rushing it was heavy rain was forecast at 5:30pm.
The reality was the rain didn't arrive until 8:45pm!
I could have taken my time, done a better job & not hurt my back 🙄

I must admit the weather has been pissing me off. Went out on the Daytona this evening and it was dry and bright enough, although cloudy, leaving the village. As I was approaching the highpoint of the road, maybe 60 or 100 feet above the highest point of the Rest and Be Thankful it started to rain. It was raining all the way down the descent from the Rest to Cairndow on Loch Fyne. Beautiful evening in Inveraray but on the return it was rain again all the way in from Cairndow to my village. To add to that, going slow down the road from the hill I had my visor open as it would mist up otherwise and feckin' midges came in, found shelter in the windbreak behind my glasses (I hate having to wear glasses now having had excellent vision for most of my life until about six years ago) and started having a picnic. I had to suffer several miles of wearing midgie goggles until I got down from the hill and reached home. Little bastards love the rain!

It doubly sucks as my autistic stepson has been here for five days, going home Wednesday and I thought that, as he and his mother sit through episodes of crappy superhero shows (that I hate) all day I hoped for weather that would allow me to put in a good few hundred miles in the saddle but no, every day has been miserable and mostly damp/wet! Oh well at least I got to spend many hours undisturbed in my shed polishing up bits of motorbike and generally relaxing.

Turned up at a job 07.30 this morning. No materials on site in spite of a promise LAST Friday they were there. Phoned supplier, "should be with you on Friday mate" CUNTS.

Drove home, had a mushroom omelette as a consolation prize and said to the missus, "Fancy a ride out to Ludlow for a coffee?" She was all up for that, so we got the Bonneville out and rode about 4 miles before the sky went black and it pissed down for half an hour. We sheltered under an Oak tree until it eased up and went home. Got home and the road was dry, we were drenched and the bike is filthy again.

Fucking waste of what's left of my life...................

As you might expect the reporting lacks all context. This was (with the usual s**t stirrers thrown in) overwhelmingly about over 1,000 First Nation kids’ unmarked graves being found in three residential schools to which they were forcibly taken in less enlightened times.
I wouldn’t begin to defend the original policy but some of these graves are 150+ yrs old and the deaths were broadly known about from various real epidemics. It’s now more about First Nation land rights and historical appropriation and other grievances. Many are probably justified.
You don’t need to go to Canada though. The same people were running horror houses in Ireland. The Vatican has yet to comment. Doubtless they will say it was ‘colonial’.

More grotesque atrocities throughout history have been committed in the name of religion than any other reason.

I'm not religious, and christianity has done some very bad things in the past, but is also the foundation of much of the western world, and possibly also responsible for much of what is good in western culture. So I hate seeing these attacks on churches, especially becuase I believe there is an agenda which is the cause, and not outrage at past misdemeanors.

Churches are being burned in Canada, France, and around the world, and it has been going on for years and largely goes unreported because it is not targeted at the protected religion... imagine the absolute screams of wordwide outrage if these had been 'other' religious buildings.

So business leaders are exempted from covid travel restrictions and quarantine... now their private jets (massive pollutants) are to be exempted from green fuel taxes... whilst we are totally screwed with taxes on our travel, on our heating and lighting for our homes, and more taxes to subsidise the corporates pushing green agenda and projects. I'm far from being any kind of socialist, but I do believe in fairness, and there is no way this is fair.

It really is clear that we are living in a corporatocracy, and there really are some rules for the elites and more/other rules for the rest of us 🤬 They really are taking the piss, and their absolute contempt for us plebs is incredible.

That is completely outrageous.

If they are serious about curbing CO2 emissions, banning private jets should be one of the first steps - in the scheme of things, their contributions are negligible, but it would show an appropriate sense of priorities instead of charging some poor bugger to take their old banger into a LEZ.

It's propably negligable in regard to the rest of worldwide industry, however it's not in relation to the individual, as I'd take a guess that the CO2 output from a single private jet flight from the US to UK might be more than the output from my entire riding of motorcycles during my life 🤔 ...and they want to increasingly tax me and eventually stop me from riding a bike.

To give it some perspective, I found the following quote:

"The report estimated that Gates' private jet travel, which he has described as his “guilty pleasure”, emitted about 1,600 tonnes of carbon dioxide. That compares to a global average of less than five tonnes per person. The environmental cost of private jets isn't a fun read."

I also found a CO2 calculator, and for a large capacity motorcycle covering 3000 miles a year for 30 years (not been riding continually for that long), totalling 90,000 miles the CO2 output was calculated at 19.18 tonnes.

Bill Gates in his private jet = 1,600 tonnes of CO2 - Me on my bike = 19 tonnes 😲
