This is on Esso website.

From the 1st September the government have mandated that all regular grade unleaded will contain 10% ethanol. This means fewer emissions, which is better for the environment. Synergy Unleaded with E10 will be available at all sites in the UK.

10:05hrs on a Sunday morning.
In a 30mph limit, 40 meters after a 50mph limit that has recently been reduced from 60mph.
Nowhere near a pedestrian crossing or school etc.
And in all the years I've been using that road, I've never seen an accident there.

That has absolutely f#ck all to do with road safety & everything to do with lining their pockets.
Fortunately for myself & the guy in the Merc in front. Drivers coming towards us warned us about the greed camera.

I have no problem with vans in villages or built up accident black spots - but half of them I see round here are just like that one; no purpose other than to raise revenue.

You may recognise the location Doc?

It's as you exit the 50mph stretch of Boughton Lane. Heading towards Moulton Fire Station.

I've just noticed the sharp bend chevron is still present. Why is that necessary in a 30 limit? 🤔

Insurance renewal time…. been with Hasting Direct for the last decade, with never an accident.

So they wanted to put my premium up by over £20.

Go onto a comparison website and they offer it cheaper than last year’s with the same company and same conditions.

That’s the piss boiling bit done.

Phoned them up, and premium back down to £118 fully comp with legal and protected no claims cover.

I used to live in the second house down in the line of houses just in front of that van, and I had never known of an accident there either.

Coming home from Golspie today, I saw 3 near death experiences.

Between Dunrobin castle and Carn Liath there is a long straight stretch, with a hidden dip. Convoy of bikes coming up behind me, and they start to decide to overtake right over the edge of the dip.

There are 2 cars and a van in the dip. I can't hit the brakes as there is a bike right by my drivers door, one at my back corner and 10 plus behind, the first couple of which are within 10ft. Not that hitting the brakes in a Landy is going to do much...

Front bike is within arms reach... Car coming out of the dip is now about 15/20 feet away. First bike is going to make it, but the 2nd isn't... So I went for the verge.

They both made it, and the third one that was up my arse end did, literally by the skin of their teeth. If I hadn't hit the verge they would have been jam. Gotta admit, I did wonder if I was going to be statistic no4... That verge is forkin rough.

Car drivers gave them the fingers, horns, light flashing etc.... Then they blew past the hgv in front of me....

In all there was about 25 or 30 bikes passing in convoy, on bends, blind corners, between oncoming traffic.

THAT boils my piss. Lack of consideration for others. Way to get us all a bad rep.

I rode with the Triumph lot from FB, never again. They did precisely that, piss poor.

Lucky they didn’t meet the **** in the silver grey VW Passat that came round a blind bend on my side of the road 2 miles from home On Saturday. The ABS earned its keep as I steered inside him and I watched him shit himself as he veered away and into my rear view mirror.
My ears are still ringing with the scream of the first Mrs Sarky.
It's not clear whether there is any connection between these two events.
