A mate……
Obviously I don't know the specific vehicle in question Nick. But Suzuki's are normally as bomb proof as every other Japanese car.Already done and sorted at the moment
It’s the incessant worry about the next thing to go wrong or fall off
A few years back when I was potless, I bought a Baleno from a neighbour for £495. Sold it for £395 3 years later with an additional 80,000 miles on the clock. It never failed me once, and the only costs were tyres and servicing. Dull, yes. Boring, yes. Faultless, yes.Obviously I don't know the specific vehicle in question Nick. Does it have particular issues that are concerning you? Or is it simply because it's getting old?
When Mrs DD had horses. I got her a 1.8 petrol Suzuki Baleno estate. It was a 1999 T plate in about 2006 ish. She ran it for several years. Then my mate needed cheap transport when his Ford Transit failed its MOT.
The guy is a landscape gardener. So the poor old Suzuki had a very hard life. After about 5yrs as a daily workhorse he got another van & his wife had the Baleno.
In all that time the only failures have been a cracked sump (unlikely to have been the cars fault) & a Co2 sensor in the exhaust.
As far as I know, his wife is still driving around in it
Not the sexiest car ever made. But incredibly reliable

I couldn't help thinking ours was exceptional good. But after hearing your ownership experience. It sounds like they are all mega reliableA few years back when I was potless, I bought a Baleno from a neighbour for £495. Sold it for £395 3 years later with an additional 80,000 miles on the clock. to be fair it has done sterling service , I’ve put 30k on the clock in 3 years and it’s done 130k total - not bad from a 1.2 litre engineObviously I don't know the specific vehicle in question Nick. But Suzuki's are normally as bomb proof as every other Japanese car.

But it’s all starting to fail exhaust completely changed, steering racks changed, etc etc
Plus handling was always bad on these Wagons and it looks ridiculous
BUT it only cost £700 I can get a bunk bed and mattresses in the back, or two wheelie bins, or all my fishing gear - so eminently practical

To coin a phrase made popular by our very own @Don the Don.......
I bet it looks like you're wearing it
Why didn't you say.And did I mention you can get a washing machine in the back
Outstanding mate, it’s surprising how many ‘white’ goods get chucked with surprisingly little wrong with them - excellent you could work it outWhy didn't you say.
I f#ckin love it now! What a superb & practical vehicle
On that subject...
That tumble dryer I picked the lovely Mrs Nick's brain about. Hasn't missed a beat so far. Without wanting to tempt fate. The issues with it throwing up fault codes. Seem to have been down to a total lack of maintenance
Also that was the last time Mrs OldNicks brain did anything usefulWhy didn't you say.

Papa Lazarou!Boiling piss smells terrible. My best man and I once extinguished a beach bonfire around which lay a fair few empties and couldn’t believe the stench and steam!
We woke up hung over looking like this:
