Just remember that, initially, the current administration was all for Herd Immunity and taking it on the chin it was the public, including the Grauniad readers and the 'liberal' press, who demanded that the Government save us from the monster and lock us all away with masks on. If we had gone for the herd immunity option in the first place we might be in a better place now.
Only just realised that The Grauniad you refer to is in fact. The Turdian!

As I've changed the tank and therefore the colour of my Guzzi, I called my insurance provider yesterday to notify them. After being on hold for over 30 minutes I eventually get to speak to someone who seemed unable to understand that all that had happened was the tank had been swapped for an identical OEM tank of a different colour. I also mistakenly said I thought the chrome tank may be more expensive than a standard painted tank, which then led the insurance rep to say he would have to pass it to the underwriters.

Afterwards I checked the prices of new tanks on Fowlers, and they are all the same price regardless of colour or chrome. So today I thought I had better clarify with the insurance provider that the chrome tank did not increase the value of the bike, as I don't want my policy going up unnecessarily. I had to wait 50 minutes on hold listening to shite music, Razorlight in particular which is like torture  and I had to listen to it multiple times 🤮, then eventually got to speak to someone. I explained that I had called yesterday, and that I just wanted to clarify that the cost of Guzzi tanks are all the same, so the new tank did not increase the value of the bike. After spending sometime getting the message across that I had not painted my bike, (kept asking about custom paint again  ), they then kept asking me the value of the tank, so I kept replying that it was the same as the tank that was removed just a different colour and was priced the same, so did not make any difference. I even had to tell the guy to stop interrupting me and let me finish talking so he might understand what I was telling him. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes in total today, plus 30+ mins yesterday, plus £30 just to tell my insurance provider of a colour change 😒

They are taking the piss out the british public, and the worst part is we will have to fund keeping that piece scum through our tax, national insurance and vat rises, when our own pensioners and the poorly paid have to struggle to heat thier homes and put food on the table. Perhaps they should let the exforces lads homeless sleeping on the streets have a word in his ear. WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO THIS ONCE GREAT COUTRY. My piss is not boiling it's super heated steam.

Just got back from the Hospital, Eldest son has been ill for a week and the wife ended up ringing 111 for advice, 20 mins on hold to be told after a few questions that they were sending an ambulance and it was on its way (this was at 6pm) at 9pm the lad was close to going unconscious and still no ambulance so ended up ringing 111 again but told I'm in a long cue....starting to get a bit worried now so decided to ring 999, sorted it with the controller who had the info on the ambulances arrival time...they will be with you within the next 19 hours sir, Sorry did you say 19 hrs..yes sir we are very busy,Ok should I try and get him there myself ... sorry sir I can't advise you on that would you like me to cancel the ambulance. Wife and I managed to get him into my very small hatchback and nip him to the hospital. waited in the car for half an hour as not allowed in then told to phone around 1am after they have done some tests to see whats occurring .... long night ahead I recon

@half ton I hope your son is recovering or has recovered well?

This might boil your piss considering your recent experience...

It boils my piss that whenever the news media talk about anyone who isn't a lefty Marxist, they have to prefix their name with "far right" or something similar. Today I have caught both Channel 5 and GB News both prefixing Marine Le Pen as "far right" but they don't prefix Macron with "communist, globalist, authoritarian, Marxist maniac", no just "Emmanuel" - fucking prejudiced hypocritical scumbags!

I had the first 2 because I work in a care home ( no choice really) but I told them I flat refuse to have any boosters .. only got 8 months to retirement, Wife and son have both had first booster, I try to keep off the subject with them in the hope they will not have the 4th jab. It's not so bad to be honest, ache all over and keep coughing runny nose and the mother of all headaches, I just want to lay on my bed and get it over with..

Well my piss is virtually vapourised today! I went out to service the Daytona today. Rolled her out of the Shed put her up on the ABBA stand and removed the left side fairing in preparation for the job. Went to start her up to warm the oil before draining it and she wouldn't start. The last few times I have tried her she ain't been the easiest to start so I check she was getting fuel (yep). OK I think, I'll take the tank off and simply swap out the plugs and coil packs as I had fresh plugs to hand and a set of coil packs that I know are good (from my dismantled Sprint). Unplug the tank to remove it and one of the connectors won't shut off. Not a problem I think, I'll just prop the tank up to stop the petrol leaking out of the connector and it should be OK when it's plugged back in. Swap the plugs and coil pack and then use my hose extensions to check if she starts or not and she starts right off the button so I think 'Sorted'. Unplug the hose extension kit and guess what..... The feckin connector on the tank cracks!!! Arrrrrghhhhhhhh!!!!!! OK I think, I've got another fuel pump panel with one intact quick connector on it so all I need to do is take it off and fit it on but, of course, it sheared off when I tried to remove it....... Bastard, bastard, bastard, bastard!!!!!!

The Daytona is due for MOT next week and of course this being a bank holiday weekend I won't get any replacements until about the day the bike would be due for MOT and not only that, but my stepson is coming next week and, with him here to look after his mother I could actually get out and do some decent hours in the saddle. Sometimes I think God is taking the piss out of me!
