What have you done to your bike today....

Nice couple of hours out this morning.

Seems a fair few other folks had the same idea as more bikes out than I’ve seen for a while. Clearly grabbing a last few sane, quiet moments before the big event!

Early Jan will involve chatting to my GS man Russ as bikes got a gearbox prob - won’t be cheap.

Not today but t'other day I decided to go out to the shed and check over the bikes as they have sat ignored for months as life the universe and everything has stopped me being out and about. The Enfield Bullets and the Bonnie's started up without any problem and the batteries, of unknown age but at least a couple of years old and not on any form of maintenance charging were perfectly fine but the battery on the Daytona, not that old at all and hardly used, was dead as a doornail and couldn't be revived.

A lovely morning and maybe the last one for a while. Over to Moreton in Marsh via the Vale of Evesham for brunch with the better half. A cracking black pudding and egg bap with brown sauce and a large Americano. Pat's Baps also trading as The Cotswolds Cafe. Lovely skies, light traffic and no bloody shopping! 120 miles at the end of December, can't be bad.

I got out for my first ride of the year, I did just over 90 miles around Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Rutland. Stopped at another war memorial (457th Bombardment Group), there are loads of sites of old WWII air bases near me, I also passed the 351st memorial but didn't stop (do that another day).

I also got to try out my Kemimoto heated vest, which worked well and kept me toastie. It arrived in a week from China, and does look to be the real deal, however after reading reviews I followed the recommendation and ordered a size larger than I'd normally have i.e. XL instead of L but it's slightly too big, so I would recommend ordering the correct size. I might order another one in L as a more snug fit I believe would give more benefit from the heating. At £21 + VAT I think its a bargain, a link is in this tread: https://phoenixknightsbikerforum.co...-you-bought-lately-why.252/page-70#post-81908

Now I've got to go wash the bike, its filthy 🤨

Nice one Scrappy. Rose and I got out today, 85 miles and collected two of the Landmark Challenge points. Hoping to get another two on Friday with a nearly 300 miler into Wales. Glad you like the Kemi moto waistcoat, I had mine on low for 2 hours and got home with 71% battery remaining.

If I may shove my oar in @Scrappy?
I'd say the people recommending that folk go for one size bigger are giving out good advice.

You're a medium on a fat day, not a large. So getting a large would be going up one size.

BTW...
That's a polite way of saying I've seen more meat on a butchers pencil!
You skinny b@stard!

No offence 😉

True that I have the body of a sex god, but I'm a 44" chest, therefore by UK sizing I'm a large to X-large...

I needed new tyres for the Guzzi and was about to order some when I spotted on eBay a set of spoked wheels off a V7 Special complete with decent tyres. The wheels had been listed for 2 days with a starting price of £200 and no bids, so I made a very cheeky (if not ridiculous) offer of £250. I thought the seller would either ignore me or tell me to piss off, but instead he replied with a counter offer of only £270... so I bit his arm off 😁

This is my current Guzzi rear tyre

These are the spoked wheels that arrived today, I've given them a quick clean but they still need a little more polishing.

The tyres are in excellent condition, the rear looks almost unused with loads of the mold tags still not worn off.

I think I've got a complete bargain, a pair of used spoked wheels are usually asking £600 - £800, these below are about the cheapest I could find now.

I've also just ordered a three pot caliper for the Bonneville. There is a guy in Italy who has been selling these for years.
